I beat Attack of the Friday Monsters last night. It's a short 5 to 7 hour game. But its well worth the 7.99. It's one of the sweetest, Charming games I've ever played. It does open up some bonus exploring afterwards. I highly recommend this one to any RPG/ Point and click RPG fans out there. Just an excellent Game which oozes Charm right from the get go. My favorite Guild 01 title had been The Crimson Shroud up until this point. Attack of the Friday monsters a Tokyo Tale beats it in storytelling. I'm sure I will go through the game a few more times in the near future as I didn't finish a couple episodes. So Much fun! I'm going to stick with the 10 out of 10 rating I gave the game unfinished. The game leaves you screaming for more. I seriously hope that Level 5 will revisit Attack of the Friday Monsters with another story to tell. Might be cool to tell Ramen or Billboards story next time
Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.
sounds over priced for 8 bucks.. too bad it was not a true rpg
WOW JUST WOW just read on another board the game is only like 3 to 4 hours long .... glad i did not buy it
Your going to miss out on one of the best gaming experiences that I have enjoyed in the last 30 years of gaming. But no worries so far all these Guild 01 games have had a sale at some point and I would highly recommend picking it up then if the game seems to short for you. I do wish the game had been longer myself but what is there is a special, charming and a totally different gaming experience than any other. I thought it was well worth the 7.99, where some might not feel that way. But this was an excellent experience in storytelling. Hope you might give it a shot when they lower the price on sale in a couple months or whenever they lower the price. I looked at it like it was the price of a movie for some very high quality entertainment. It doesn't have some Fast paced RPG battle system but the exploration and the card game (Ro-Shambo) are tons of fun

I finally had time to finish up the game today, and i've gotta say i had hoped there would've been more to it in the end. it was actually kind of a twist that it ended that way instead of going the obvious route. There's a little bit more to the game to wrap up after the 'ending', but it involves collecting all of the Monster Cards, and i don't have the patience for that, I'm afraid — i really hate this card game.
all in all, i guess i'm glad i played it, and again the presentation and feel of the game was absolutely wonderful. i enjoyed the authentic Japanese feel of it all, but that card-game mechanic really killed it for me, and i also got pretty sick of the child narrator voice. wish there'd been a way to turn that off, i'm more than capable of reading the messages without the accompanying voice, lol

As soon as I get an E-Shop card, I'm downloading this as well as Mighty Switch Force (I can't believe I haven't yet) and Super Mario Bros. 2. It looks so amazingly anime in every way possible! I just hope it's not as short as Liberation Maiden was.

Sorry to tell you but it is shorter than Liberation maiden or right about the same length. It' is very short but whats there is a beautiful, Charming videogame that will stick to you well after you have beaten it. Maybe wait for a sale which will surely happen as all the guild games have been on sale at some point. If your worried about the length of the game. I'm not disappointed one bit that I didn't wait to play this. It will bring a smile to your face. You can beat this game in 2 to 4 hours. If you get it I would suggest to take your time and just let it all sink in. Such a beautiful game. It's my Favorite of the Guild series. The game took me about 5 hours as I kept playing the Ro-Shambo card game over and over with Sohta's friends

Well, I finally downloaded this and I just wanted to say that it was everything I expected and possibly more.
This is exactly the game I adore. I play lots of games, but the ones to which I always return to are the ones that invite me into their world. Games like that are usually pretty easy (Threads of Fate is the closest comparison I can name off-hand), but I tend to replay them infinitely so it evens out in the end.
Also, I agree with all the comparisons mentioned above and would like to add that its closest cousin, to me, would be Shenmue. It plays like a young-player-skewing version of that. And since it's one of my favorite games of all time, I am quite satisfied with this little adventure into Sohta's world.

shut up right now i love that game
... though I don't think i'd really compare this game to Threads of Fate unless you removed all the combat stuff and exploration, as well as the dual protagonist interactions and the whole 'play this story from two POVs' thing. in terms of just running around, talking to people and learning about their individual stories, that compares, sure, but Threads of Fate went much deeper and answered more questions than this i think. Threads of Fate is a game i played over and over and over again because i fell in love with the characters and their stories. AotFM is a game i probably won't play again, even if the card game part of it was completely removed.

This game is beutifull. I am almoste finished the tasks, and I am done with the brilliant story. It was a bit strange, but realy fun and a great experience ^^
You're right, though. Attack of the Friday Monsters isn't quite as satisfying. And of course the characters aren't nearly as eccentric. But the feeling of wandering around a little town and getting to know everyone still gave me warm fuzzies. But I did enjoy the little quips from the narrator for some reason.
I finished everything except chapter 4. Does anybody know what will finish it? Collecting the cards does take a long time, and I'll probably treat it as daily fun game. Wish it could be with another person, but as it does not have download play, I guess not.
I actually used the earphone on this game, as I want to immerse myself fully in the game, and I'm glad I did, even if the voice is in Japanese. Very artistic.
If you treat this as a game, then it's too short. If you treat this as interactive movie, then it's just right.
Did you get all the cards yet? I also have 2 cards to acheive. I've been walking around trying to get the other players to challenge me and find that I'm having almost as much fun as playing the story mode. I will play the game again! Just beautiful

I can't even describe how much I love this game. The music, the artwork, and the strange feeling of nostalgia it evokes makes me wish it was much longer. 10/10

Glad you like it! The game hit me the same way. Just a Joy to play.
I did get all the cards BTW. Not much changed other than a Couple of His friends saying they noticed I had collected all the cards.

On glimp (orwhatever they are called) left to complete this game 100%
Does anybody know how to complete chapter 4 and where to find a space monster glim? When I'll get those done I'll have completed it but I'm VERY tired of wandering around and have card battles.
I'm loving this game and I've liked the card game.....
