So I got the guide for the game a couple of days ago and I have a couple of questions, although some of them it should be too early to know the answer (unless you time travel, I suppose).
1. Roughly how much do you have to spend at Nook's store to get it to upgrade? The guide just says "a lot" or something like that.
2. To get the blue llama to wake up, do you just have to sell stuff to Reese (?) or do you have to use the flea market?
3. To get the Dream Suite it says you have to go online at least once, but IGN's wiki does not mention this requirement. Is it true? And if so, do things like Streetpass and connecting to get the downloadable item count, or do you have to go to another town?
4. For things that require going to other towns like badges or getting Katie to come and visit, does the Dream Suite count? I've never gone to other towns or invited someone over before because I don't know anyone who has the game, so I was wondering if I will have to do those things. Thanks for any answers.
Also not a question, but I thought it was funny that in all of the neighbors it mentions, it omits one of mine that was there when I moved in: Barold the Bear. Does anyone else have a neighbor that is not mentioned in the guide?
1. ~10,000 Bells or ~20 separate items. There also has to be a period of time (I think 10 days) from when you became mayor.
2. Sell items to Reese, combined with a certain amount of days since you became mayor
4. Dream Suite does not count, as you aren't actually going to other people's towns, you're going to a reconstructed version of their town in your town.
You need to donate at least 50% to one exhibit (fossils for example). After that (at some point), Blathers will have a speech bubble above his head. After talking to him, he'll put the museum expansion in your list of projects.
I'm not sure yet, but I'm pretty sure it's the Roost. I'll know whenever I pay it off, lol.

Did anyone realize that if you add someone in another town you don't know and BF them it adds them to your friends list?! That's crazy!
You don't have to BF them. Just adding them adds them to your friendslist.
Anyway, there's a limit of 32 BFs, unfortunately. So remove people who don't use their BFME (or who haven't BF'd you back)

What exactly are the jewels used for or should I just sell them?
I'd keep them. I'm not sure what they're used for, but just keep them until you find out.

From what I've read, they will be of use eventually. The blue guy in the Resell shop will wake up (at some point I'm not sure of) and he will use those crystals to make furniture I believe. (May want to google that to make sure)

Actually, The Roost is now a café or something like that. It's a public works project that can be built anywhere in your town. You have to wait for a villager to ask for it before it is added to the list of public works projects, though.
Got a Wario's mustach today. (Not sure how much use I'm gonna get out of THAT...)
And NooklingJunction is upgrading for the first time tomorrow.
AND KICKS IS BEING BUILD! I've been waiting patiently for it xD.
oh and I finished my fountain. Not sure what I'm gonna build next.
And I got my second floor upgraded so its a little bigger.

I also changed up my house exterior for the first time via Nook's shop. I changed the door and the roof, it's a nice feature.

I think the expansion you're talking about for the museum is the create-your-own exhibit type thing on the second floor with Blathers' sister, Celeste. The Roost is in your town I believe, as a public works project

Maybe they just did that to give people incentive to use the early-bird ordinance as mayor, but I'd rather have the keep-town-beautiful one in action so oh well.
