Later this month sees the arrival of Pokémon Legends: Arceus on the Nintendo Switch. To fill in some time between now and then, Nintendo has shared another batch of screenshots on its Japanese website.
It gives trainers a look at the game's environments, some of the Pokémon you can expect to encounter as well as the battle mechanics. You can also see the various modes of transport - by air, land and sea. Enjoy!
Will you be trying out Pokémon Legends: Arceus when it arrives exclusively on Switch? Tell us in the comments.

Needs some detail and color. Not a fan of this new bland style that Nintendo is doing with this and Zelda.
Q : Will you be trying out Pokémon Legends: Arceus when it arrives exclusively on Switch?
Me : Not day one as i still busy to hunt other games. I will try to get Legend of Arceus after several months later.
I am not going to get hyped until I see the actual frame rate of this thing. This has the potential of being an fps nightmare.
Looks good enough for me! I honestly see a big improvement compared to early footage. The most important thing for me is seeing enough gameplay to know I'm excited to play it day one for some much-wanted features, like more integrated core gameplay in the overworld. Also, the ability to sneak up on Pokemon and try catching them before you even battle is a subtle but important evolution to the idea of exploring a world filled with Pokemon. I have a feeling I will be very excited about the future of Pokemon after playing Legends Arceus, and I haven't been this excited about a Pokemon game for a long while.
I hope they fix the framerate in time
7.8/10 - Not enough water detail.
I know the graphics are eh (but still wayyyy better than BD/SP) but I'm just so happy to see a Pokemon game in true 3D. No more remnants of blocky 2D design left. Realistic 3D environments. That makes it great.
It’s looking a lot better for me! My cautious optimism has built and built until I’ve reached “Got to play it now” mode, and these screenshots are definitely helping putting me in that zone.
How the hell does BD/SP have better looking water than this lol I think this could of done with another year in development, or is simply the switch just can't do any better
I mean the pokemon models look the best I've seen so far and the gameplay looks fun but the world/environment looks so bland and lifeless, the pokemon sword dlc areas looked better
Ok those screen shots look really blurry,so much so I hope its just for screenshot sake.
Looks like a GBA game. sad face
Did I do it right?
Those floor textures, the trees.
At least it looks better than minecraft or fortnite. And look how popular those games are. So...
Looks really rough...should have called Monolith Soft
How comes you good people can come on here and have a bash at Nintendo and their game.
And when I mention AAA Nintendo in house game development and feeling they have slacked off a bit, I get totally beaten up by the Nintendo fans.
Such fun 😂
The more I see of this game, the less hyped I get. I'll be waiting a few months before getting it. Not going to make the same mistake again.
Nintendo are so proud of this game they are letting nobody (except Christina Aguilera) play it before it releases. its such a good game, no game journo's will be allowed to touch it before release- just to make sure nobody knows just how good it is.
@Matty1988 I would prefer it if monolith didnt waste time on pokemon tbh.
It looks ok but I am still bugged that it is not a present day setting.
Maybe they want to play it safe and not make it a sequel to the main Pokemon games.
It obviously doesn't look amazing graphically, but I can live with that if the gameplay and frame rate end up being good. But I'm glad this game looks like it's at least trying to be different, since the Pokémon formula of the main series has gone stale.
@mario9785ify Xenoblade 2 was Pokemon enough for me anyways, they included the "gotta catch em all" element pretty well!
The frame rate on these screen shots is shocking. 1fps!
Right, I’ve been holding off on commenting on this but here goes
I’ve been coming to NintendoLife since CVG shut its doors and I’ve loved watching the site build and even the creation of the YouTube channel
But I have to admit it but the other day I turned off the video on Arceus Legends on the YouTube channel as it was just bashing the game, I mean it’s not even out yet and although John, Zion and Alex have great analysis usually this video just left a bad taste in my mouth, it was bad within BDSP but this is even worse
As someone who grew up in the age of the home computer and trust me there were loads of limitations it got me thinking have we gone back to the bit wars? Games should be enjoyed for their playability, their enjoyment and storyline and how much it makes us happy
When I see comments online in multiple places saying the grass isn’t green enough or the water isn’t clear it just reminds me about the bit wars all again
I say, the game may or may not be perfect but instead of making comments about a tree or grass, as long as the game is good and makes you happy that’s all that matters
@wolvesboy this guy gets it.
If it's fun to play, then I'm sold.
(I've played Outer Worlds on Switch, sunk about 60 hours into it despite it looking like "trash".)
Is there likely to be a Pokémon Direct before this game’s release?
@wolvesboy Excellent comment. Agree 100%.
It appears they are trying to create that anime look, that is close as possible to the show. While using cel shaded visual style which is nice. In terms of gameplay, it looks like Game Freak is trying to get out of the mold of the static menu selections, and trying to keep the action and battles as seamless as possible. It is great to see the developers trying to evolve the series with their vision of making the experience more immersive.
@Harmonie I think just like Sonic, Pokemon has two styles that people would like it in. The first being the classic blocky style (I would rather if they stuck with sprites) and the 3D style.
@wolvesboy Agreed. In truth I have been happy with games since the PS2 and Gamecube era. I felt 3D really gained great footing in terms of visuals from that point (it was rough transitioning from SNES and Genesis to N64 and PS1).
I don't want to be a pessimist, but if this was any IP other than Pokemon, I don't think very many of us would be interested in it. A lot of us would be way more critical.
@wolvesboy A very refreshing comment to say the least.
This game will be great and there’s no changing my mind
@wolvesboy I totally agree with you. I can barely ever read a Pokemon comment thread on here (or anywhere) because it is just so hard to read. I am a recent Pokemon fan and I just enjoy playing the games, why are people obsessed with the graphics in a Pokemon game?? Honestly, it started out on a handheld with a tinge of green for the screen and was pixel as all crap, but it was the gameplay people fell in love with. If you are worried about how a tree looks or some grass then maybe gaming is not for you 🤷♂️
Gameplay looks just as bland as the graphics. Apologists will pretend this looks good though, their identity depends on it.
@ShePenny Strange given you're the only one trying to tell people how the game looks.
@Aurumonado you make a good point, look at halo infinite, got absolutely s**t on when it's first trailer came out yet it still looked better than pokemon.
I think when people are paying £50 for this where there are better looking games for less money, then we are entitled to our opinion.
Look at dragon quest 11S, same price yet makes pokemon look like an indie. We all pay full price for pokemon games every time they come out so they should put that money to use to make the games the best they possibly can
@UltimateOtaku91
It makes matters even worse when at the same price, most of the Pokémon spin-offs look much better than the core series.
Sure, the graphics aren’t up to par in comparison to other consoles and PC, but that’s just what Nintendo does. Instead of realistic graphics, they lean toward more cartoon-ish styles for most of their 1st party games, and it’s nice to have that style of graphics available. Also, considering the switch’s limited hardware, I’d say we’re fairly lucky to get at least somewhat good good graphics for such a (hopefully) large game. However, it does leave some things to be desired, that’s for sure. Nintendo doesn’t have to make a switch pro just yet, they just need something new-ish to handle the newer, bigger games they’re making.
Pokemon is the biggest grossing entertainment franchise in the world and the game is made for a single platform. They have the money to make something more technically accomplished than this. BOTW has been out nearly 5 years now and still looks way better.
The problem isn't even just the ugly graphics, it's that the gameplay has intentionally been left obfuscated. This is why you keep seeing people comparing this to Breath of the Wild, when the two games have nothing in common beyond both containing trees and grass.
@Strafe exactly they get revenue from the main games, spin offs, the anime, films, Web TV series, trading cards, merchandise, mobile games (especially pokemon Go), Game freak should be one of the richest devs around and should be pushing the switch to its fullest capability and making games on the scale of BoTW, Xenoblade chronicles 2 and Dragon Quest 11S instead of nice and easy full price cash grabs. They are taking the p**s out of Pokémon fans loyalty
@MysteryCupofJoe Well, I find sprites and blocky environments to be archaic. They are the result of the limited hardware of their time.
People can have their opinions. (I can understand enjoying archaic things, like I prefer the harpsichord over the piano, regardless of the fact that the piano is an technical improvement.) But... a 2D/3.5 game should not be out here on a modern console for $60. Plus, Pokemon had to move on, and I'm glad that it finally has.
Lots of people complaining about the graphic fidelity of a game made by a developer who has never been known for graphic fidelity.
I have decreasingly little confidence in this game, but GF usually delivers so I will be playing it.
The GameCube had better water effects.
This game is the definition of "back in my day".
I'm actually impressed with how much better this game looks now than when they first revealed it.
And what's even more impressive, is all the latest footage looks smooth, unlike the initial reveal.
I had written this game off at first, but now I'm genuinely excited for it. This is the freshest take I think I've ever seen for the series, and it desperately needed it.
@Harmonie hey man, that's like...your opinion.
We have every right to be cautious and even to criticize. We are paying premium price for this game at the same price or even higher than some other AAA games on other powerful consoles.
I'll always be cautious with every Nintendo games (especially action games) even from first party exclusive and wait for reviews (no review so far.. red flag?)
@MysteryCupofJoe PokeCubes enters both chatrooms..
@GayusGayer maybe fortnite on switch
I like it. Sure, the graphics could be shinier, no mistake. But I was not expecting Pokemon on the Switch to look like a PS5 game.
@SuperZeldaFun, only someone whose hyper partial would discount the importance of audiovisuals & gameplay fidelity, simply to defend a machine that lacks the ability to output both.
@JasmineDragon how about parity with an xbox 360 game, too much to ask?
@faint when they were working on handhelds, that may have saved them, now that they are on a "console", maybe they should crack that piggy bank open to splurge a little on a basic level of graphical parity
@wolvesboy its perfectly fine to enjoy things on a surface level, but at some point, when a person reaches a connoisseur level, there simply is no ignoring obvious shortcomings. & if you think the staff here was being harsh.....
I've never been a stickler for graphics but GameFreak should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to do the bare minimum even though they have money coming out of their ears. When a quality monster taming game like Shin Megami Tensei V only sells 800k copies in 2 months while games like Pokemon BDSP sell over 6 million in the same time frame, that speaks volumes about the fans who actively support these releases.
At least screenshots won't drop fps.
@NinjaGuy69 Preach!!
I don't care about graphics but it does definitely read like they're hiding things with how this game is out in like two weeks and they've shown virtually nothing of it.
Not that I'm especially interested in the concept of it anyway but they're certainly not changing my mind with how they seem to be afraid of people actually learning, like, anything about the game beyond, "Look at this small handful of new forms!"
Looks emptier than SwSh amd even BDSP. Either GF change the engine to a more efficient one on their next game, or they finally learn how to optimize code
What's with the mountains not reflecting and just continuing until the model just gets cut off in the 8th picture?
Edit: At a second glance, they are reflected, but the skybox isn't, this is really confusing once you see it the way I saw it initially.
@NintendoArchive when they were working on handhelds, they were still behind other developers who were working on handhelds when it came to graphical fidelity.
I don’t get what we’re all deciding based on looks 😮
It looks OK to me…
I definitely won’t be getting it on day one though, unless there’s suddenly a refund system. I’m going to wait a bit and see how the reviews look and i guess there will be a ton of bugs to fix.
Is it fun to play? That’s what I need 🙂
@GayusGayer Your avatar has been deemed appropriate.
@wolvesboy
Remembering that during the era of Wii, many people made fun of their games for their graphics, especially the 'fans' of other consoles, but many defended Wii games for what is more important in a game, the gameplay and the fun; something that many of those games had despite the graphics, and even in the games on the NDS and 3DS when it was the comparison with the PSP and Vita; It is true that the visual graphics support a lot to be more detailed, but the Gameplay is what makes the game, the game.
Now, ironically, a lot of people with this game (and it's not the only one too) are acting like those people who made fun of the Wii and NDS games, and don't say it's not true because the comments say it all, but, oh well ...
@faint on that we agree, however, the disparity is now all the more pronounced
@SakuraHaruka the wii had games that pushed that hardware, these games aren't.
Uhm no not day one. Will wait for gameplay videos and reviews.
Theu havent convinced me yet
Honestly I don't think it looks better than like Sword and Shield, maybe trees don't look as bad in this one.
My kid started playing Monster Hunter Stories 2...the screenshots show a lot of similarities with that, specially the open world screenshots where we see wild Pokemons. I also can't help but see the BOTW vibe too.
I don't know how I feel about this exactly...it feels odd to see this level of similarity in the open world aesthetics between the screenshots and MHS2/BOTW. I suppose it can't be helped...
@NintendoArchive
And there were also very good games and they didn't get to use 100% of the Wii or NDS hardware.
Here for many the pretext of the graphics is more to continue with the "nonsense" of annoying for something that they should already leave behind; They seriously give too much importance to the graphics than to the gameplay, and do not say that if they care about the gameplay, because all the complaints and whining is about the graphics, everything about the graphics (just looking at the comments says it all) , and sorry for saying it, but I thought that the "graphic whores" were the most dramatic for this ...
Also, I don't see the big significant difference in graphics with these games, but, well ...
I better leave this because there is no remedy for these discussions ...
@SakuraHaruka I think special attention has been given to the graphics because people are surmising that they are an indicator of lack of effort, & even if that is not the case, the audiovisual aspects of a game are not peripheral elements in the greater whole of a game product, & when that aspect is behind the current mode of current Nintendo software, criticism is not hyperbolic, its meritted.
I personally can’t wait for this it’s nice they are trying somthing new and for that they deserve my support.
@Strafe The problem probably isn’t money as much as it is human resources. Game Freak probably just doesn’t have the human resources to develop something like BOTW or Xenoblade X. This title may be a step in the right direction though to develop their staff.
A lot of bloom effects in the foreground and fog in the background make it hard to look at. Hopefully, you can change these it the settings. Comparing to previous entries, it still looks much better than anything else they produced, not sure where all the complaints are coming from.
The news I'm waiting on is more details about the starters, which I've been assuming will get Hisuian forms.
This looks literally like Zelda Breath of the Wild. Its almost 100% certain they used the Breath of the Wild engine for this game.
Pokemon Sword&Shield were built with their in-house engine and looks much crispier, sharper and cleaner.
I have a feeling their in-house Pokemon engine couldn´t support this type of game, so they borrowed the BotW engine from Nintendo for this game.
The graphics, trees, grass, player animations (especially look like the crawling through the grass..... exactly like Zelda). Even some of the UI elements are eerily familiar. Its just too much of a Dejavu feeling to be a coincidence.
In all honesty. It would make perfectly sense as well. Since a lot of the mechanics and features used in this new Pokemon game are available in the BotW engine. It would have been a lot of work, developing and implementing it inside their own engine.
Still looks fine to me, roll on release day.
@IronMan30,
There will be some on here that claim it looks worse then the Gameboy color games.
@Don definitely
It's unbelievable how bad Game Freak is at visuals, but hey, it's the first truly new Pokémon experience in 25 years, I'm excited.
@Jeronan no, if it was the BOTW engine the game would look way better, it's probably the same 3D-Pokémon-engine, you don't change an engine for the graphics to look worse than SWSH.
The reason why the assets and UI look similar are: 1- the game is intentionally inspired by BOTW, 2- the third parties that make the assets for Pokémon also worked on Zelda and Xenoblade, look up the credits of all games.
Looks rather empty. With all the money and resources they have, is this really the best they can do?
Graphics don't make a good game, but man does this LOOK bad. It's like a mish-mash between a mobile game and PS2 textures aiming for BOTW. Hopefully the all important gameplay is great.
@wolvesboy
I agree with, the gameplay is most important. But don't you think 'more beautiful' graphics will make a game 'more beautiful'? NGL imo game freak knows they will get a way with pretty much everything and still make top dollar, haha. So why should they bother?
Breath of the Wild came out in 2017. 5 years ago. And it looks way better.
I love Pokemon but this game looks like it's still in alpha in comparison. This along with BDSP being quite disappointing and the general lack of care is honestly putting me off Pokemon games.
I might still get it for the gameplay but the lack of demo leads me to believe the controls will be a janky buggy mess. Hopefully I'm wrong and this ends up great to play despite visually looking half-assed.
@HenHiro Ehh I think we can call "rose tinted glasses" here.
Have you fired up BotW recently? It´s blurry like hell and looks pretty much similar to this game´s GFX.
Sorry, but BotW was a fantastic game, but the graphics were never it´s strong point. Most definitely due to the scale of the game and size of open world and finding compromises to run decent enough on the Switch.
28th January.
99% of the world's countries use DDMMYY despite Hollywood's attempts to crowbar us into MMDDYY.
Its a video game, so what matters most to me is - “is it fun?” I mean, that’s why I play games. To have fun. From the 6 minute video recently release and the other things I’ve seen & read, this looks like a lot of fun and I can’t wait go give it a try.
Pokémon is the most valuable media franchise in the world, so this shouldn't look "Ok", this should look like the most valuable media franchise in the world. The game world looks bland, the textures look basic and uninspired, and I've seen better looking water in Ps Vita games.
A lot of comments on here are about the water looks ‘unnatural’ or that the scenery needs ‘’more detail’ but this is not the art direction the game is trying to go for - so it seems unfair to judge it in those terms. It’s basically going for that kind of matte anime style so of course it’s not going to look ‘realistic’ - the Pokemon games never had. This argument about graphics reminds me of when Wind Waker was first announced and the similar furore about how it didn’t look realistic enough or it was going in the ‘wrong direction’. We don’t complain that Celeste or any of these games ‘lack detail’ because that’s not the approach they’re going for
Its a bit cheap when devs have a sparsely populated game with little going on, then set that game in a distant past or formative time to justify it.
@Meteoroid Instead of making a game which has ambitions beyond the technology, or devs capability, maybe they shouldn't make these types of games.
Breath of the wild was an exception since it had the gameplay and experience to compensate what was 'missing.' I really don't think Arceus will be as successful. For a start, there are rumours suggesting the game isn't fully open world at all, which makes the fact it is so empty even more of a negative. no excuse!
Apart from a bit of fuzziness, it looks pretty good!
@Meteoroid,
Always the same, no matter what Pokemon game gets released there will still be some who will complain, core obsessives who spend far too much time playing games, and are notoriously hard to please.... same every time.
@Meteoroid have I played the game? no. But that hardly counts for anything since nobody else, other than Christina Aguilera, has. that alone should tell you that game freak hasn't pulled it off. I mean, if they pulled it off, they would be inviting games journo's from far and wide to play their amazing game, and the journos would spread the word. instead, Aguilera gets exclusive hands on.
in the end I will be the one coming back to say 'I told you so' when the game gets its inevitable low scores.
Can't wait to play it!
@Meteoroid I predict 6/10, maybe less. time will tell. I won't cry, I simply won't buy the game. if it turns out to be great, I will buy. quite simple.
but I won't pretend the signs dont look good
Arceus isn't open world.
How will people always find the tiniest things to complain about? "The water doesn't look that good!" OK, it's not like your gonna be stuck staring at it in game. "It looks empty!" Of course it looks empty, there ain't gonna be forts or some other nonsense built up, because the region hasn't been explored.
@Meteoroid >You people
What? Wind your neck in, kiddo. Monolith Soft have a team designated to help with asset creation and world design. Take a few minutes to compose yourself.
@piecez
it wont get low scores, the standards are different here. And even if it got low scores it would sell like crazy because why not? its a pokemon game, they don't need to impress anyone with graphics or smooth gameplay.
@NintendoArchive is it tho? Go back and play Metroid fusion on a GBA and then Pokémon Emerald on a GBA.
@faint of those ive only played fusion, & on wii u too, which is a handheld game blown up on a big screen, which actually demonstrated that the more powerful GBA actually at times looked worse than the less powerful snes, on the tv anyway, I assume it translated perfectly fine on the original screen real estate. & I would imagine that the simpler sprites of pokemon translate perfectly, if ur saying they don't, then I'll take ur word for it, however what neither of us needs to take another's word for is that a highly lucrative franchise has failed to not only push the hardware, it hasn't even toed the line, which I suspect that games like X &Y, sun & moon, black & white, red & blue managed to do that latter thing.
@Meteoroid I ignored your point because you misconstrued my argument, which seems to be typical of all your interactions here. YOU mentioned Xenoblade 2 for some reason, I've not played it and can't comment on it. Grow up, kiddo.
@Matty1988,
You may no have mentioned Xenoblade 2 directly, but you did state the game looked rough, and perhaps Gamefreak shold have reached out to Monolith soft, which considering makes these types of open world games sounds reasonable, but you do have to take into account that their output on the Switch thus far is not without it's own issues.
@NintendoArchive If you don’t understand how games are created to fit an aspect ratio of their original device or display device standard, then maybe this isn’t something you should be arguing so confidently.
@faint maybe read what i said a little more slowly, & try a different intonation when reading it.
@Meteoroid Arceus isn't open world.
@NintendoArchive Oh, I read it. You simply don’t know what you’re talking about. Simple design has zero to do with screen size, but the programed screen size has everything to do with stretching.
@Jeronan I think you're the one who needs to play BOTW. I agree that the graphics were not perfect, but it's way better than Arceus. I recommend you to compare the footage side by side.
BOTW's grass ground is all covered by grass blades, in LA it's just here and there, there's a lot of flat grass ground. The trees in BOTW look much better, and yes the textures in BOTW are not completely crisp either, but it's 2x, 3x times higher resolution than LA.
The terrain in BOTW is has higher poly count, the mountains look very realistic and beautiful. In LA unfortunately, it looks like someone randomly brushed the mountains into the terrain, without looking for any reference of how mountains actually look like, without the care of using realistic mountain brushes instead of the standard round ones.
I might be excited as heck for Arceus, I'm a Pokémon freak, but I'm not a fanboy, I can see the flaws and I will critisize them and hope they get better in the next game.
@faint by all means, go off, its a good look, ill take ignorance over arrogance, im not talking about sprites looking stretched from aspect ratios or increased screen size, & perhaps that's in play, but I'm saying that smaller character models & objects on smaller screens are not going to be rich in detail, because that detail ain't gonna translate anyway, & even without all the stretching they don't look good. So back to Pokemon on GBA, it doesn't need to be technically impressive, it can be simple & look good, this game on the other hand, looks like garbage because it fails to capture the essence of what its emulating to the degree of detail that it needs to be, according to its given artstyle, the grass texture is terrible, its blades are flat, blurry, & patchy, the water doesn't, glisten or move right. I'm sure the draw distance will be lacking, there's probably a myriad of other things, & it would be child's play, to point them out. I could go on, but you've proved to be an uncordial individual, so why bother.
@NintendoArchive Ok, so you don’t understand why I used the gba as an example. I’ll spell it out for you
Whatever console or handheld a mainline Pokémon is on, it’s always leagues behind most triple A Nintendo tiles when it comes to graphic fidelity. Every single one. Since the originals.
@faint 👍
@HenHiro LMAO! Have you ever played a Pokemon game or are you just a resident troll here on the site?
Legend Arceus has less grass blades than BotW? Really? That is your argument? ROFL!
There is a design and mechanic reason for that and has been like that since the very first Pokemon game until the last (Sword/Shield) and has nothing to do with GFX limitations.
@faint,
At last, someone on here who gets it, every single Pokemon game since the Gameboy originals has never pushed the hardware, the games are aimed at a younger audience who have no issues, hell even the majority of older fans couldn't care less either, and it's only the core fans that want an ultra realistic looking game.
@Jeronan you obviously don't know very much about game dev, it's okay.
I'm a dev myself, grass blades are very expensive assets, to have a world full of them like BOTW in a hardware as limited as the Switch, takes lots of effort and probably years of optimization. Look at games like Xenoblade, where in order to have a world full of details like masses of grass blades and other plants, they have to reduce the game's resolution to sub-HD levels many times, while BOTW always runs in HD, because the game is a technical masterpiece, and LA is the exact opposite, it's a technical shame unfortunately, it looks like a bad (!) remaster of a Wii game (with not so great graphics even for the Wii). Xenoblade Definitive Edition, a remaster of a Wii game, looks much better than LA.
Flat grass grounds like in LA are very outdated and something most games got rid of in the early 2010s. Again, XB on the Wii had more vegetation variation than LA.
And don't pretend grass blades was the only example I gave you why LA is much uglier than BOTW, and you call others trolls...
I don't understand know someone could think they are on the same level, you just need to make the side by side comparison. BOTW is on another level.
@Jeronan I'm still playing BOTW and I'm still impressed with it's visuals and beauty. Clearly some views are bleak but in general Breat of the Wild looks and plays astonishingly.
Honestly, some of these screenshots show some improvements with its environment since the 1st trailer. I'm getting more excited the more I see this game.
Anyways, I'm not one to judge a game by its graphics alone. If a game is good, then it's good regardless of how it looks and so far, gameplay and lore wise, I'm already heavily invested. I've been hyped for this since its announcement.
My only concern at this point is what other regional variants are we getting. The final evolution of the starters were not yet revealed at this point (I mean, I know what they exactly look like but you know what I mean). I'm under the impression that we are getting a Hisuian form of Decidueye, Typhlosion and Samurott
@HenHiro How do you know? You got an early illegal copy of Arceus or something?
These are just screenshots, some of the Arceus videos and other screenshots in other articles look much better.
Have you seen screenshots from BotW recently? Like in this article: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/01/random-a-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-multiplayer-mod-is-now-in-development
Just tell how that doesn't look blurry and hazy?
BotW is reasonably sharp in handheld mode and looks great, but when docked it's a completely different matter.
So until you got the game running yourself on your own Switch, we know nothing.
And yes.... patches of high grass is a core mechanic in Pokemon games since the first game.
This has nothing to do with how expensive GFX wise grass is, but a core mechanic of the Pokemon games.
@tanasten BotW looks pretty good in Handheld mode, but docked on a large TV is a different matter though.
@Jeronan as I said, I agree that BOTW's graphics are not perfect, but it's still far better than Arceus. I don't need to have an early copy to see that, the difference in asset quality is very clear.
