Remember PokéLand? It was announced by The Pokémon Company a few years back and was positioned as a continuation of the Pokémon Rumble series. However, after the success of Pokémon GO everyone kinda forgot about it – until today, that is.
It has now been revealed that the game goes by the title of Pokémon Rumble Rush (Pokémon Scramble SP if you're in Japan), and it's already out in the open in some parts of the world. This free-to-play effort has been developed by Ambrella, and is not related to the DeNA Pokémon project that was announced recently.
While some regions list the game as 'Coming Soon', Vooks is reporting that it's already possible to download Pokémon Rumble Rush on the Google Play Store in Australia.
The game's Google Play page lists the following details:
A world full of uncharted islands! Aided by strong Pokémon and a spirit of discovery, journey through uncharted islands that have many Pokémon!
Enjoy fast-paced gameplay on the go
It's easy to control your Pokémon with one hand. Clear stages by controlling your Pokémon as it moves forward. If you see enemy Pokémon, you can attack by just tapping the screen. Tap to engage in exciting gameplay action! The islands and seas explored during your adventures change every two weeks
You may find unfamiliar and stronger Pokémon on new islands. So, journey through various islands and seas and collect more and more Pokémon!Upgrade Pokémon of your choice
You'll sometimes receive ore when you clear a stage. Refine ore to get power gears that you can use to make your Pokémon stronger. You may even be able to refine ore into a summon gear that calls forth a Pokémon to use a powerful move. Use power gears and summon gears to help your favorite Pokémon do well!Test your strength using the Pokémon you've collected
Occasionally, you can earn rewards by working your way through the Super Boss Rush. You'll need many different types of strong Pokémon to win each Super Boss Rush. Harness the power of the Pokémon you've collected from various islands and seas to defeat the powerful Super Bosses.

I'll try it. Free games are the Thing now. Hope it'll be good.
Oh, this game again. May try out of bordem.
If I could somehow import my progress from the previous game on 3DS, I would try it again. But starting it all anew? No, thank you.
"Tap to engage in exciting gameplay action!"
That doesn't sounds like exciting gameplay. At all
If it lets me play it without an internet connection then sure, otherwise I'll pass.
I'll pass, these were good on the 3DS as they were a bit fleshed out and had you at least positioning yourself to attack oncoming hordes, but this seems too mindless.
I quite liked the Pokemon Rumble games until they ruined them by making them free-to-play. Now I have zero interest.
3DS version >>> Smartphone version.
Smartphone games = Blah.
Pokemon Rumble was good fun, I’ll give this a go as I really can’t judge smartphone games without actually trying them, unlike some people.
Is the screenshot from the game? Can you use a Mii?!
@RadioHedgeFund
Miis won't be unusual if you link to a Nintendo Account. It'll probably just use the Mii for that account.
Miis were a prominent aspect of Pokémon Rumble World.
Neat, perhaps I'll try it. In 2028 when it's available here.
Gosh, that Mii in the picture really makes this game look 10 years older than it is 🙄
says it's not compatible with my phone
Huh, i wonder if they are going to make an switch version of this like they did with Pokemon Quest.
"What? Pokémon Rumble is evolving!"
Mash the B button
"Huh? Pokémon Rumble stopped evolving..."
In other words, I'd much prefer it without the free-to-play gimmick as well. Ain't touching this with a 10 foot pole.
Well it’s a free to play game so not expecting much. It’s probably at least 50 times better than The Elder Scrolls Blades.
"Tap to engage in exciting gameplay action!"
No. Just, no.
Hard pass. Playing through all previous versions makes you realize how stale the game is. Main series games advocate 4 moves in total, stats and items to mix up the gameplay and keep it interesting. I loved the realtime action gameplay of the Rumble games but they never stacked up in any other aspect. They lacked the ability to make each pokemon feel different.
@Kalmaro What's your take on "this game again"?
The hot air balloon photo made me think of the free-to-start 3DS game, I think it was PR World, which I played way too much of and really enjoyed, but the description reads like Quest on the Switch, which is basically garbage. I mean yeah, I played most of it, took about 2 weeks, but it was pretty bad.
I still think the original Wii game was the best, though I didn't play the paid one on 3DS which my kids tell me is the best one, the Wii U game sucked, think I played it for an hour, my kids may have finished it in 2 hours, the free 3DS one was 2nd best, and Switch probably a worse game than Wii U, but Switch was free, Wii U $16, so I'll give the free game the cost-benefit win.
I'll try this out to see for myself but honestly either way I'm probably over it.
@IHateTombs It's not because it's F2P, it's because it is a crap game with loot (gamble) boxes.
Belgium isn't banning all F2P games, it's banning games with loot (gamble) boxes.
So thanks for telling this, then I know I don't have to waste time downloading this crap.
I’ll give it a download.

Y E S!!! I've been waiting so long for a new rumble game! It also sounds like a bit of mystery dungeon mixed in there.
Cool I guess, but the Rumble games are definitely by far the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Pokémon games. Well, aside from the other ones developed by Ambrella, namely Hey You Pikachu, Pokémon Channel, and easily the worst one of all: Pokémon Dash.
I don't see it in the Apple App Store (US).
Oh, nice. I was wondering when would they add Pokémon rumble to mobile.
Hm Sounds super fun to play.
gimme pokemon sword.gonna try cos have a switch and not played pokemon since red and blue.hope it's good even though am 33 now
@0muros free for you maybe, but i can't really afford to buy a new phone.
i also hate mobile games that require constant online access like this, cause once they get pulled it badly affects everyone whose still playing the game & everyone who didn't even get a chance to play it.
@Shadowmoon522 Hmm That is something..
I'd rather have a new pokemon rumble game for the switch
@Mando44646 And most of the time you are right.
@Hrimfaksi Pretty sure this one is different with different stages I believe. So really won't make sense if you can put your data from your 3DS on this one.
Only played the Wii one, but it was fun. Wouldn't mind having this one on the Switch, if it's anything similar.
Wow, I've been waiting for a new Pokemon Rumble entry and well, it will be soon! ^.^, although I do not mind the fact that it is on Smartphones, however, I hope it is not an abusive Free to play; I really liked the Rumble World, and even though it was a Free to Play at the beginning, it was not nearly abusive.
@Shadowmoon522
I think the same, lately almost all the games are asking for constant internet to play, if not, you can not play, which forces you to be in a place with internet and still, not all places have internet, that if it is annoying; and it is also true and in fact it has already happened, and in my case, with the Sailor Moon drops, I loved playing that game, but for "business" reasons, Namco Bandai decided to close the server and bye bye game, can not play it (neither the menu nor anything you can see ...); Really it is a horrible and bad idea that games require mandatory internet ...
@rjejr Nothing really good or bad to say about it. The rumble games usually play it safe and are pretty similar.
They are decent time wasters and cool if you just like collecting stuff.
Edit:
Downloaded the game, even though it's not even supported for me phone, because reasons.
... The game is not too bad, I'll probably play it for a while.
Well poo, the app is incompatible with my devices.
@Shadowmoon522 in on Android, I just downloaded the game file and sideloaded it.
@chiefeagle02 if you're on Android too you can get around that.
@Kalmaro I just tried to download it (on my PC) and it says it isn't compatible w/ any of my devices. I don't have the latest and greatest but my Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro was about $100 and runs 5.0 and plays everything else I've thrown at it. Maybe I'll try my Amazon Fire 10" tablet w/ the Google Play store which works, but doesn't seem to check as well.
So, Amazon tablet lists Pokemon Quest but no Rumble Rush. My phone doesn't list either Quest or Rush. I give up. If I really need to waste time I can put Gems of War on everything, I have about 100 hours on the Switch. I wont' though b/c it wont' share data between Steam, mobile and Switch. Which is probably for the best or Id' never stop playing it.
@rjejr Dude I don't blame you. I had to go to another sir to find the app, then install the app with another app that hides root and THEN I could play it. Only to find that...
The game isn't BAD. more like a 6.5/10 so you aren't missing much. If you like tapping games then this would be up your ally.
I hate how Nintendo does this to amdroid games, I can't even download fire emblem heroes from the play store anymore. It just doesn't show up.
@Kalmaro Thanks, I'm just gonna forget about it entirely then. Which unfortunately shouldn't be a problem these days, I forget everything, even things I want to remember.
I really dont' understand why mobile games can't get normal controls tacked on w/ bluetooth controllers. Even before the Switch there was Gamegear and such. You'd think by now we'd all have bluetooth controller cases for our phones and games to play. A little thumbpad on the left and 2 buttons on the right, move, accept, cancel. Done.
@rjejr I wish a on screen d pad existed, like a rubber one.
I'm sure something like that exists. Would be so nice.
Us Europeans are waiting patiently 😬
@Kalmaro "I'm sure something like that exists. Would be so nice."
I feel like the hardware exists more than games that make use of it.
I wonder if all the people making all those apps just never learned how to program for physical controls?
I'm playing in English early because I downloaded a apk
