As you may well be aware by now, a cool little set of Detective Pikachu movie-themed trading cards are being released next month. We've already seen just a handful of the cards set to appear, but The Pokémon Company has now shared several more and, being the lovely folk that we are, we thought we'd share them with you, too.
If you haven't already seen the previous reveals, we'd urge you to take a look these when you're done here. We were first treated to a glimpse at Pikachu himself along with Charizard and Greninja, and then we saw Jigglypuff, Mr. Mime, and Psyduck. Before you go, though, here are another five to longingly stare at for the rest of the day.
First up, we have Mewtwo.
Second, another version of Detective Pikachu, different to the first one we saw.
Pokémon's number one, Bulbasaur.
Arguably the best moment from the latest trailer was the introduction of Ludicolo.
And finally, Machamp. We wish Machamp would help us to cross the roads in real life.
These cards won't be available in your standard booster packs; the Detective Pikachu collection will only be found in special collections. They're set to go on sale from 5th April.
Do you like the look of these cards? Are you a collector? Let us know if you'll tracking these down next month in the comments below.

I think I need these
Cool they are doing the more realistic ones, Ludicolo is the best!
Ludicolo the most over powered?
I NEED the Ludicolo and Bulbasaur cards. Also, I hope they make a Snorlax one!
@jadewarrior84 Well they are stage 3 so I guess it's fair.
That's bulbasaur looks awesome.
Strange to say this, but I’m getting more and more interested in this silly little movie, especially after buying the game it’s based on yesterday.
The full set of 18 promotion cards are listed on Serebii.net
https://www.serebii.net/card/pokemondetectivepikachu/
They include:
Bulbasaur, Ludicolo, Morelull, Charmander, Charizard, Arcanine, Psyduck, Magikarp, Greninja, Detective PIkachu, Mr. Mime, Mewtwo, Machamp, Jigglypuff, Snubbull, Lickitung, Ditto, Slaking.
No Snorlax card.
So it's been ages since I played the card game, but can anyone tell me why one would ever retreat Ludicolo and not instead just use his move? Can you attack with a different pokemon after a retreat on the same turn? Because his move uses 3 cards just like retreat does, but wouldn't require you to discard the energies, and you get an attack in while still having the effect of putting him back on the bench and putting a new Pokemon on. Unless I'm missing something, the only appeal to retreating would be if you have a card that can grab energies/cards from the discard pile and you want to put those energies ultimately back in your hand.
@duffmmann In a multicolor deck, it's theoretically possible you would somehow end up with no grass energy for him, and retreating can be done with any color. That's the only thing I can think of.
But it's just like U-Turn Pokemon in-game. They basically never use the normal function to switch Pokemon since they have a better option.
"this expressive Pikachu is like a middle aged man."
You mean he IS a middle aged man. He's the main guys dad, I'm calling it now.
@pupypup I feel like anyone that played the 3DS game all the way through could probably tell us if that is true or not. Then again the movie obviously could take liberties in the movie and change things from the Detective Pikachu game if they want.
Not gonna lie: I'm no Trading Card collector and I much prefer the anime/manga art style of the franchise, but these look pretty good.
These images are now making me ponder on why the creators of the upcoming Sonic movie didn't hire this 3D artist.
@duffmmann @pupypup I have completed the Detective Pikachu game. The answer is:
***SPOILER WARNING***
We don't fully know. The game finishes the case Harry was working on when he disappeared but it leaves his whereabouts and the full story behind Pikachu on a cliffhanger.
There are clues about what happened to Pikachu. I think I've got it worked out but it's rather long and extra spoilery.
I like the Bulbasaur but not the Mewtwo. I don't think I'll track these down.
Reminds me a lot of the 3D-rendered art on older Pokemon cards. That's pretty neat
Mewtwo just looks like Patrick and Squidward fused.
The Mewtwo card looks both creepy and awesome at the same time. I think the rest look pretty amazing though.
Cutest Bulbasaur ever!
I actually have met the dude behind the pokemon designs, really great person. I'll definitely be building a full set.
Machamp is dead on.
Kind of fitting given the whole 'Murican spin on Pokémon we've gotten.
Master Martial Artist that's strong enough to send people flying over mountains.
"Use your 4 arms to direct traffic."
This isn't a complaint by the way.
Ludicolo rules, not only in TCG. I have one named Runpappa in USUM. Is a killer machine in my Rain Dance team in VGC.
This movie does not sound the least bit appealing.
That Ludicolo and Machamp look very strong. Bulbasaur with a tutor is nice as well.
