Bandai Namco and Outright Games have shared the very first trailer for PAW Patrol: On A Roll, the game based on the popular pre-school TV series headed to Switch later this year.
We first heard about this one back in July, but with only a piece of accompanying art to really go on, we weren't sure exactly how the gameplay would play out. Now, though, we can get a good look at what you or your little ones will be getting up to when the game arrives on Switch (interestingly, the game was originally said to be coming to 3DS too, but there's no mention of the handheld system in the video or new press release).
The game includes 16 daring adventures featuring all eight of the beloved heroic rescue pups and Ryder. Players use each pup's unique abilities to rescue friends and keep their community safe, and there are eight different Adventure Bay locations to play in including Farmer Yumi's Farm, Jake's Mountain, a desert canyon, under the waves, and more.
If you want to get ahead of the crowd, pre-orders for the title have actually now gone live. The game will be available on 26th October.
What do you think? Is the gameplay like what you expected? Let us know with a comment down below.

Sooooo......
Another 2.5 D platformer, eh ?
Now if I trusted my nieces or nephews near my Switch, this would be exciting.
Is this a switch exclusive
@DanteSolablood haha my sentiments, exactly😅
After the jaw dropping previous headlines of 'Nintendo doesn't say anything...' and 'Game not coming to the Switch...', I'll take this! (What is happening to this site? lol)
@DanteSolablood TV mode with dedicated joy cons?
@jockmahon No. This is also coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
W-who is going to pre-order this?
I've just shown my 4 yr old daughter this and her mind is blown!!!!! I can see this getting added to her Xmas wish list. Any idea whether you can coop in this game?
I was hoping this would be a two player game, so my kids could play together. It's looking pretty single player in the trailer. That's a disappointment, and if true, I'll be waiting for a significant price drop before getting it for them.
Finally...the Switch's killer app has arrived. Preordered the bundle.
I'd buy this for my three-year-old but I'm not ready for him to take over my Switch...
@Tedikuma @JedRock @DanteSolablood
Just send the kids to Nick Jr, where they can play games like this one for free.

Trailer looks like they ported this one.

This ones good if you like kung fu chickens. No relation to kung fu panda I'm afraid.

@rjejr Yep, he uses the Nick Jr. app all the time. It's great. The trailer reminded me of a lot of games on there, just in 3D.
@Tedikuma My kids, and I actually, used to play the Wubbzy games all the time, had a cool one with a submarine fighting a giant crab and a giant robot chicken. Both of those looked better than this 2.5D jumpathon. Actually some of the top down Go Diego Go ones weren't bad either.
I'm glad for kids to have these, my godson had a PJ MAsks themed party a couple of weeks ago, the 3 eyar old has out grown Paw Patrol, but it just doens't look like much effort was put into this $40 game when Nick JR is free.
I'd urge every person thinking of getting this $40 game for their kids to buy the Spyro reboot trilogy for the same price instead. Those Spyro games were great, and very kid friendly, though the final boss fights might take some help.
Same day as the Castlevania re-release.
...Alucard, better watch your back because these pups are on a roll.
@Mew This guy! =D Though I'm pre-ordering the 3DS version, since the Switch is still too $$$ for my wallet.
Just yelp for help! And yes, this really needs two players — particularly given the audience and the fact that the show is built entirely around teamwork — or what is the point? I hope you are able to play as the Kitten Catastrophe Crew. Mayor Humdinger is the best character on the show.
There is plenty games for us more seasoned gamers to play between Switch, PS4, X1 & PC etc. With even more great looking games on the way in due time.
Y'all should be a bit more inviting for these types of games for the younger kids to have fun with and if you're a parent then to play along with them too.
This doesn't look like a 10/10 but possibly a solid 7/10 and that is good enough for me to keep an open mind about this for my son who loves Paw Patrol.
@Mew Parents for children who like PAW Patrol. Many children love the series.
The sad thing is, I know I'm going to buy this and play it to completion lmao
@Truxton_4_Life I didn't think that warrented a pre-order
Yeeeaa!!!! Mother-Puppies!!!!!! This is Pawsome!!!!
My 4 year old daughter would enjoy this. Hopefully they aren’t asking a full $59.99
This doesn't look too bad for the target audience actually! I know my nephew will love this.
Truly, the most anticipated game of 2018 rivaling smash, god of war, and spiderman
@bstie1198 Sinstupid this game is not a couch co-op. I’m not buying it now.
As long as it doesn't fit the standard 'sub-standard kids game' archetype, I will pick this up for my daughter.
There are a few iPad games for children that are not god awful. So I'm hoping this will at least present some challenge. Currently we play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe together, it would be good to have other games she can play.
I wish there was one of My Little Pony (4 Generation) / Equestria Girls for Switch, but, well, it will still be a dream ...
@Mew lol me. I can’t wait to play this with my daughter.
@Supadav03 £28.99 in U.K. pounds on amazon.
How come people are excited to play this game but crap all over the mainline Nintendo games we get? Is this really what the gaming community is turning to xD
Its gonna suck...... my sons didn’t even like the Paw Patrol game on their leappad.
i enjoyed an article from a certain bulb-vegetable news site, where they reported on the paw patrol sheriff gunning down an unarmed black lab.
Btw this show is banned in my house. My son will never watch this garbage.
@pattybean thanks. Seems reasonable
@deadpixels 3 of my 4 kids are old enough to game (4, 6, & 8) and they love all the LEGO games, Mario Kart, Minecraft etc. My daughter, 4 is the least familiar with games but really enjoys SFII & the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up bundle. We’ve been playing the later quite a bit in co-op.
Nintendo 3rd party support still going strong
I can't wait!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Pre-ordered!
@Mew me...
I see more positive conversation here then I do on Smash articles...
@Supadav03 The youngest here is 4 (my current frame of reference) the other 2 are old enough to be doing their own thing and I wouldn’t even be a challenge for my son as far as overwatch is concerned.
She does enjoy the Lego games, but her main is Lego the movie which is played through steam as it’s unavailable for the Switch. She is enjoying Dust (which I enjoy too), but Lego undercover has turned into my game. It’s one of those ‘can you do this bit daddy?’ games, while she sits and observes and I’m just running through the whole thing... kids eh?
