Flyhigh Works has revealed that the Skipmore-developed Switch title Kamiko has surpassed 200,000 sales on the eShop, making it the third best-selling indie game on the Switch digital store.
To celebrate this news, Flyhigh Works has also revealed that Fairune Collection is coming to the
Nintendo Switch and PC this year, bringing together the two original games that were previouslyreleased on the 3DS eShop. It will also publish Skipmore's Picontier later this year.
Were you one of the many who purchased Kamiko? Are you looking forward to playing the two Fairune games on your Switch? Let us know with a comment.

I got Kamiko last week on discount. It is very short and not that hard and has no story but for its very cheap price it was quite enjoyble and arcade like fun.
Now the first Fairune (also very cheap) is a better overall game with an enjoyable overworld and interesting leveling system but also has no story. I never got to play Fairune 2. I guess I just wanted a Vita port that never happened. I guess I will get the switch collection if it is resonably priced.
Since Kamiko is the third best-selling indie game I was wondering what are the first two. I guess, depending on the charts I see, Stardew Valley and Oxenfree?
Got Kamiko on a sale. Brilliant game for the price.
@belmont Shovel Knight must be up there as well. Golf Story, Shantae 4, and Blaster Master Zero are also contenders in my opinion.
@Krisi Blaster Master Zero and Golf Story are also strong candidates. I am wondering if indie titles that have retail editions are considered in thus "best-selling indie game" category.
Anyway Shovel Knight and Shantae 4 are not excusives, in fact they are available everywhere (SK is crossbuy on PS machines) so I don't think it is them. Oxenfree had a massive discount and stayed on top of charts for lots of days and is not as popular as SK and S4.
Isn't 200,000 sales a bit low for "third best-selling indie game" though?
@belmont The article didn't mention exclusives, though, so I assumed that multiplatform releases were also counted.
@Krisi You are right, my point still somewhat holds though. I personally have Shovel Knight on both Wii U and Vita (and PS3,PS4 due to cross buy) so I see no reason to buy it again on Switch. Same for Axiom Verge. So I guess they sold somewhat less than 200,000 digital copies.
How many times I've been that close to buying Fairune on 3DS... guess I won't after all. XD
Got Kamiko last week as well. Looks and controls neat, but I spent more attention on the other few titles splurged then, including Resident Evil Revelations (ironically, the game I did have on 3DS already - but even with gyro controls to aim with, I still prefer RJC stick to the C-stick overall XD). Expecting some good fun from the game nonetheless, especially with all the puzzle elements involved.
This makes me extremely happy. Even though I own both Fairunes on 3DS, I’ll be buying the collection for Switch. No questions asked. I’ve also had a close eye on Picontier and that is something I’m really really looking forward to!
This is awesome news! I've really wanted to play the Fairune games for a while now, especially after loving Kamiko, but I just don't play my 3ds anymore.
Thanks for bringing these and Picontier to Switch!
@belmont I checked on google, the Top 5 best selling indie games on Switch are:
1) Fast RMX
2) Golf Story
3) Kamiko
4) NBA Playground
5) Overcooked Special Edition

I ended up getting kamiko for $1.99 after the discount and some gold points. After playing it with all three characters and still wanting to play more I feel I got so much out of that price, even if I would've payed full price for it, definitely feels like a steal. Great game.
YES!! I'm buying EVERYTHING.
Never got Fairune on 3DS but always wanted to and Picontier looks awesome.
Speaking of 3DS, I wish games like 80's Overdrive and Maldita Castilla would make the jump to Switch.
@Mr_Horizon Thanks for the head's up. List makes no sense though, lol.
The discount for Kamiko definitely helped them secure that position, though I do think it’s a game worth buying!
I bought Kamiko after reading Nintendo Life's review (I believe it scored 9/10). And I must say that I am thoroughly unimpressed. Its pixel art is pretty, but it's just not my kind of game. I am still working through my first playthrough (although I haven't played it in months) with the sword fighter (blue haired girl). I just find it kind of dull & mediocre at best. I would probably rate it a 4/10 or 5/10.
Out of Flyhigh Works game selection they always hype this because it's the most succesful sales-wise. It's odd because all other games I've seen from them seem to be better.
This is not the only developer or publisher where the cheapest game is also the best-selling and most-hyped. There seem to be quite a few where their cheapest, smallest and most basic games outsell the much more advanced and better games tenfold.
@Damo You should probably remove the 3rd best selling indie, since it seems to be false, or at least include the source. At the moment, it looks like Flyhigh (with some help from IGN) just misunderstood the slide that Nintendo put up on GDC. There's a ResetEra with all the relevant links and sources to the confusion, if you're interested.
I'm shocked that Rocket League is not in the top 5! I know it was more recent that the others, however it has been in the top selling since it's launch and the player base (I restrict my play to only switch players) is huge on Switch every night
wait, so every other indie game outside the top 3 has sold fewer than 200k on the Switch? This is a $5 game.
@Mr_Horizon Yessss @ Fast RMX snagging that top spot. Great game, and to be one so early into the Switch's life at that!
@jariw Hey, I'd be very interested in the source. I looked up the google link for the top selling indie titles, are you saying this list is wrong? https://tinyurl.com/yb6zg2ug
