The Switch is already establishing itself as a nifty party machine with a range of multiplayer games making their mark on the system. ClusterPuck99, published by Coatsink (Shu) and developed by PHL Collection, will aim to join the ranks and become another multiplayer hit on the hardware.

With support for up to eight players locally (while there's also a solo mode) you battle to get your puck into the other team's goal, with various stages and hazards shaking things up. The trailer and PR details below sum it up nicely; there's no formal release window as yet, but it will be playable at RTX London and Tokyo Game Show.

ClusterPuck 99 is a lightning-paced 8-player sports game created for parties, competition and smack talk! Bash your friends to gain control of the puck then fight to score, avoiding spikes, ledges and - of course - everyone else.

The Nintendo Switch version will feature:

  • 8-player local multiplayer
  • Instant replays and puck customization
  • Single-player challenge mode
  • All 30+ original maps, plus a host of Switch exclusives
  • Arena Creator

It looks simplistic but also promising; party games like this often thrive on a basic concept with a decent share of chaos thrown in.
