The SNES Classic Edition's user interface bears a striking resemblance to its NES predecessor, but there's more going on under the surface.
One of the most interesting new additions is the inclusion of a rewind feature that allows you to scrub through a save state and jump back in moments before you fell into that pit or were zapped by a callous alien.
Take a tour through it all with us in the video above, and make sure you leave a comment down below telling us what you think of this tasty little console.

Seeing as I'm on a roadtrip and missed all the preorders, this video may be the only way for me to experience the darn thing without shelling out a fortune to a scalper.
Nintendo really needs to increase the stock on this over the NES mini. I've gotta have one and know a good amount of people not interested in the NES who really want the SNES mini.
Looks great
Well I missed Best Buy pre-orders....I had all the notifications on and everything but it was too late when I checked, I guess there is still some hope
Am I the only one who cares about Yoshi's Island and not Star Fox? xD
@Joeynator3000 No, I agree. It's probably the first game I'll play. The Star Fox games have aged horribly. Then I'll play DKC, Megaman X, Final Fantasy III, Super Castlevania IV, Kirby Super Star. Maybe even Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, thanks to the save states, I should be able to finish it. And of course the obligatory few rounds of SF 2. The rest I've mostly played and the few others I just don't care. I'm looking at you Kirby's Dream Course.
Ah Yoshi's Island... I love you 💕
Guys - This looks like the UK/Euro Snes Mini has the correct interface layout but displays the games with US box art.
The US Snes mini has the correct interface to go with the games box art.
The coolest one of them all the Super Famicom mini, has the correct interface and displays the cool Japanese games box art.
Couldn't help but notice it, bloody annoying tbh so may import an SFC mini and US mini just like the good old days
Wait, what's he not able to show us? Are there some secrets on this thing? Other unlockable games or features maybe?
Didn't Yoshi's Island have 2 player mini battles? It's only shown as single player at 7:10 in the video.
@HeroponRiki Maybe it was Starfox 2
@b_willers Honestly they might not mention it due to being a cheatcode in that game.
@waluigifan1 I hope so. There really aren't many multiplayer games on this thing. I remember the throwing ballon game which was fun.
Tempted to watch but want to save the surprise.
I got a preorder luckily, Gamestop sent me a text and called me I literally live 5mins. away from my local Gamestop they said they had 10 available for preorder they were gone in twenty minutes tops. I don't , like many people understand why Nintendo makes such a low low number available when especially after the madness of trying to get a Nintendo classic mini they knew demand would be super super high.
For me I had no luck at all. I literally went to my local best buy, gamestop, target, and walmart less than an hour after they said they had stock and they were all sold out. It's straight BS what Nintendo is doing. What got me especially disappointed is that I signed up for notifications for gamestop, never got anything from them, and they were all sold out by the time I got there. smdh
If I can't get one I'm going to pirate every single game on it instead.
"Video: Let's have a look at the SNES Classic Edition's Menu and Save State Features, because, let's face it, most of you poor buggers missed out!"
Fixed.
Awwww man! I really want one but I don't know if I can be bothered. The SNES library is amazing!
I watched it. Only 37 days. Urgh.
You already have it?
Awesome features for a system I will never own! It was by shear blind luck that I got an NES mini. I doubt I will have that same luck again.
I'm extremely upset by this whole thing.
Awesome. I chose to not buy the NES Mini, despite buying one for my dad and one for my friend... but this I'm buying. Already locked in, can't decide if I want to keep the EU or NA version. Probably both. One to hook up and one to display.
This thing looks so awesome, but I hope it gets hacked like the NES Classic. I need DKC2 and DKC3 in the spread, among others.
So, @AlexOlney are there 4 save states per game, or 4 save states to share among all 20 games?
the rewind feature seems pretty cumbersome to use (with you first having to press reset ON THE CONSOLE). but i guess it's due to the limited number of buttons on the SNES controller.
it would be nice if you could use the ZL and ZR buttons to rewind when you connect a wii classic controller pro.
@JaxonH per game.
I liked the sound effect for the reverse (or "rewind"*) feature.
(*the word "rewind" seems to suggest video tape was involved)
Not really sure about the rewind option. It's sanctioned cheating. So much about these games is the challenge, and the learning. Remove that and you have nothing.
People shouldn't fret. I'm sure there'll be plenty on the shelves. Nintendo have learned!
@HalBailman having used rewind features, I can say that I don't find it removes the challenge. It may remove some of the challenge, of the tedious variety such as going back to the beginning of a stage. If the challenge is built into the game design, no amount of rewinding will do those parts for you. Besides, save states already allow "cheating" anyway. This can be more convenient in some ways. Personally, I enjoy games more with such features and return to the same games more often as a result. Ultimately, I think it's best to let people decide for themselves than to not make it available. Besides, I've played enough old games to know that sometimes the games cheat.
I am still wondering what we weren't allowed to see - additional games via the hack?
