My God more platformers,it's like the megadrive Genesis/SNES days all over again. Had my fill of platformers back then,so no chance now for me. Great to see Indies giving the switch a lot of love though

Outside of Yooka-Laylee this is my most anticipated indie game! Day one for me.

@NintySnesMan Dig is not your typical platformer. It's much more like Super Metroid in how it plays. Do yourself a favor and pick up the first game.

The first two games are on sale this week on the Wii U eshop. I'll get those and make an assessment first. But I already love the aesthetics

That said, Heist really doesn't count as the same as Dig.

No no no Bro can't do it,I really don't like platformers anymore whatever skin they are dressed up in,same goes for 3d platformers. Funny you should say metroid,the last platformers shooter I bought was Axiom Verge on psvita,bought it because it was the nearest I would get to old school metroid on vita,I must say it was a classy game,now that was more like metroid Bro than steamworld could ever be. I am sure many ppl will like this,but not for me mate

@NintySnesMan While I understand your point and kind of agree with it to a certain extent, the SteamWorld games to their credit are fantastic.

Now, regarding the video, I will never watch another Nintendo Minute video again. I despise them.

Nothing wrong with platformers if that's your thing Bro,I moved on from them that's all. There are many classic platty games out there and once upon a time I used to love them just like many ppl still do

@NintySnesMan they're very different games. Dig is like a Metroid where you dig your own path. Heist is a turn based strategy.

They're not all that related but both are exceeding well made, clever twists on the genres and, I think, a ton of fun.

If you want a more standard Metroid-a-like, Xeodrifter is very good. It's only a couple hours long so it doesn't outstay it's welcome and I beleive it's also in the sale at the moment on 3DS.

Dig is a game where you dig and collect materials to sell, and collect new abilities. Neither play much like a platformer you are probably thinking of.

Although while Dig was really nice, i can't say i was really looking for a sequel.

@NintySnesMan I can't say. I finished SteamWorld Dig but not Heist and they're 2 completely different games. They're going cheap on the eShop now so why not try them out. SteamWorld Dig is a bit like Metroid, it's also quite short.

Nice mate. I have to say I would go for Heist because I do like turn based strategy games or stealth games. I think I have been converted,I will Def give heist a go for sure,probably not dig though

Got myself the copy of fast rmx instead of dig 1 and heist. But i think this game looks like real fun. Definitely gotta try it. Still would be cool if heist would be downloadable.

@NintySnesMan Heist is an amazing game. The combat uses line of sight and has a wild west feel encouraging trick shots and ricochet shots.

@NintySnesMan I finished both. Dig was lslow at first. Loved the upgrades.

Heist got me hooked up from the beginning: collecting and selling stuff, unlocking stages and partners, etc. I liked Heist better than Dig. It is longer, also.

Loved Heist and Dig.

Glad there's a sequel to Dig but I'd also like a second Heist now too though please!

SteamWorld Dig 2 looks fantastic! I'm definitely looking forward to diggjng up the cash for this one!

@NintySnesMan Based off of what you said (Sick of platformers) Heist would be the clear choice. I liked them both pretty equally, but Heist is not a platformer - it's a 2D turn based tactics game that uses Worms style aiming mechanics for shooting. It's a really good game.

Very much looking forward to this. And will add to the comments saying this is not your typical platformer. It's more relaxed for one, bit not without challenge. I found. The balance in the first onenjust right for me. I'm speaking as someone who abandons Mario platforms before finishing more often than not..

It's telling that the inspiration is Dig Dug with a bit of metroid and I'd add a sprinkle of Boulder Dash.

Day one for me.

SWD2 on 3DS? crosses fingers

Looks great. This and Monster Boy are my most anticipated Indie games. Hopefully Crashmo World makes a return.

Yeah mate Heist sounds good. I will give it ago, dig is not something I will go for but it seems to be well appreciated by NL users within in this article

@NintySnesMan I would still suggest looking into Dig - maybe check out some videos. It was also quite good, and It's gone for as little as $1 on Steam sales. It's pretty short (5-6 hours if I recall correctly) and it doesn't feel like your typical platformer.
