Update:
Square Enix has advised us that details around a Collector's Edition for Final Fantasy Explorers is based on information that was "posted inadvertently and is subject to change before being finalized." With that in mind we should wait and see what details emerge in future.
Original Article:
In just a couple short months, the West will finally receive Final Fantasy Explorers, the somewhat open world spin-off of the popular RPG series. Though we weren't overly enamored with it when we gave it a go on a Japanese demo, it nonetheless appears to at least provide an entertaining experience that'll satisfy fans waiting for the next Monster Hunter to be localised.
At any rate, Square Enix has just announced that there will be a special Collector's Edition for those of you who can't wait to get your hands on the game. As it happens, Square Enix hasn't yet revealed exactly what will come included in the package; all we know is that it'll be $30 more than the vanilla edition. Considering the relatively short time between now and release, it's likely that we'll probably receive more details in the near future.

I'm not holding my breath but that would be great if it included a download for the Final Fantasy 3DS port that we never got. $30 more for the collectors edition makes it possible, but I have a feeling it will include something else like a figurine, a keychain, and a soundtrack.
I don't really care about artbooks. Sure they're nice to put onto a shelf or something similar but the pictures end up online someday, anyway. With Collector's Edition, I mostly care for the box itself (I like to put the especially big boxes on the very top of my cabinet) and figurines whatever it might be (although that Agnes figurine from Bravely Default is giving me the creeps). Other than that, I'm sure to get one if it comes to europe.
Dang, ill have to pass on this one, but it looks and sounds awesone. I'm just too backed up right now
I'll keep an eye out for more details but Monster Hunter style games have never gone down well with me, ended up feeling like a constant grind.
Also, despite loving JRPGs, Final Fantasy is the one series I've never really had a good relationship with; though maybe it's cos I missed out on its heyday during the PS1 years.
@GoldenGamer88 That Agnes figure is currently where it belongs; inside the box and on a shelf inside a cupboard. That thing was just an abomination, like Resident Evil 5's statue level awful.
I can wait for this game. But passing on the collectors edition.
It better come with a CD soundtrack and a Cloud Strife amiibo.
I'm more interested on finding out if the gameplay may have changed to something more... concrete. With the review making the game sound downright horrible (enemies that all pretty much exhibit the same behaviour?) I can't see any good reason why I should shell out my hard-earned money. That being said, if the full game IS an experience worthy of my money, I'll gladly buy it. Because I've been interested in this game since day one. I hope the creators will have put more effort into it before deciding it needed to come to western shores.
Don't need it but glad it's there for those that do.
How's the game anyway ? I was under the impression it wasn't very good but recently people are saying otherwise. I'm a bit unsure.
getting the vanilla edition. i can't afford to spend $30 more for a collector's edition no matter how awesome it may be. i wish they did it the same way atlus does. Launch editions that are more or less the same price as a regular game.
...in North America so far.
Art books are always welcome!
I usually don't go for Collector's Editions unless I am super hyped about the game and the CE includes a lot of cool stuff. Final Fantasy XII was my first CE and though it didn't include anything outside of a steelbook case, I absolutely love the game and am glad I got the CE. FF Explorers I don't feel that way about so I'll probably skip the CE but I do want the game.
@FX102A Mine is actually just behind me right now, just as always when I'm sitting on my computer. Resting right next to my PSOne games, it glares at me with its eyes that stare right into my soul and reminds me of a girl from school I once knew, Lisa. She gave me the exact same look every time I met her.
Standard edition is available for £23.86 from ShopTo.net, Game.co.uk is slightly more expensive at £23.99 - cheapest I could find and a pretty good price imo.
