Review Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (Wii U)
Genieus
Immediately upon seeing the title screen and hearing the game's main theme, you know that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is another step forward for this series. Back in 2002, Shantae made her debut on the Game Boy Color to rave reviews but disappointing sales — hardly a shock when you take into account the GBC was on its last legs — but the...

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero News
News Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Pirate Queen’s Quest Launches on 29th August
Risky business
We absolutely loved Shantae: Half-Genie Hero—on both Wii U and Switch—though one minor point of contention was that the game ends a little sooner than we would like. Of course, since launch, WayForward has been busy preparing a lot more content to add on to the game, the first of which is a new storyline in which you take control...

Hard Core Mode inbound!
As it stands, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is already an excellent game, but we knew from the start that this is only the beginning. Due to an incredibly successful Kickstarter run, there's plenty of extra content coming via DLC, some free and some paid depending on whether or not you were an original backer. Though the meat of...

Shantae, WayForward's tentpole IP that's developed an audience on Nintendo portables in addition to other systems through remasters, is getting its next title very soon - Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. Crowdfunded and a decent amount of time in the making, we're now just a couple of weeks from playing it. A...

The latest in WayForward's flagship series, Half-Genie Hero was Kickstarted three years ago and has been in the making ever since. Originally, the game was...
News Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Has Been Delayed by Six Weeks
Bug testing is the reason for the hold up
Many have no doubt been looking forward to the release of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, the latest in WayForward's flagship action platforming series. The build we played at E3 a few months back was top notch, and there's little doubt that the rest of the game will hold to the series' standard. Previously the...

Half-genie, all hero
WayForward's popular half-genie mascot hasn't starred in a game in since 2014's Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, and now the wait for her next adventure is nearly over. First Impressions Getting Down with Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
Don’t call it a reboot
Among the indie stars that have graced Nintendo platforms over the years, it's easy to say that WayForward's Shantae is one of the most recognizable. Despite playing the lead role in only three games over the past decade, the scantily clad genie has managed to dance her way into the hearts of so many gamers
About The Game
Shantae embarks on her first full HD adventure! When a mysterious crime wave sweeps Sequin Land, it's up to Half-Genie Hero Shantae to save the day!
Use Shantae's devastating Hair-Whip Attack to send monsters flying, or Belly Dance to transform into a more powerful creature form! Topple the masterminds behind each criminal caper and prepare for the ultimate showdown against Shantae's arch nemesis – the bodacious buccaneer Risky Boots!
- Shantae's trademark moves return! Dance to transform into all-new and classic creatures, or summon magical attacks! Over a dozen dances to discover in all!
- New Relic System allows players to unlock new powers and customise moves for Shantae and her many forms!
- Conquer arcade-style action stages that unfold into a full world to explore. Fast action and quest-style exploration rolled into one!
- When Shantae's story ends, you're just getting started! Purchasable DLC modes introduce new characters, levels, and bosses!
- Huge bosses, humorous dialogue, and the wonderfully weird Shantae cast return, now in fully-animated HD!

I've loved Shantae since she got her start on GBC, and I'm a paid backer of this game, but the hair-whipping attack originated with Kabuki Quantum Fighter for the NES!
Sounds like we're getting a prequel? All the more reason to own a Wii U. But seriously? Shantae and the Pirate's Curse isn't even out yet! Not that I'm complaining...
Supporters have pledged more than US$920,000 but the kickstarter page still hasn't updated the goals (it lists the additional chapter that was unlocked at 800k).
I do hope for full voice acting (at 1.1M) to be unlocked.
Omg I can't wait for it!!!
I've followed Shantae since the GBC version, and all of the installments. The series was fantastic. I can't wait for the game. I've played the demo, really good.
Just checked my Amazon pre-order. Delayed another week to December 20. Not sure this is gonna happen in 2016 . . . .
Anybody else enjoying this game with their KS codes yet? I don't see it available in the eShop, but code was successfully redeemed and playing it right now on Wii-U. I've finished the Mermaid stage and this game really wastes no time kicking you into the action....
PS:I'm gonna buy a physical copy to keep sealed...
Will there be a physical version for europe?
@Ngamer did you get a confitmation to this question yet?
@eK1mus no not yet...
Just picked it up today, love it so far, really good stuff
