Do your answers for the multiple choice segments dramatically affect future gameplay, or determine the amount of sidequests that will be available later on? If so, I'm going to note the answers I didn't choose, so I can choose them on my second playthrough. Does anybody have any gem crafting tips? Also, does Xenoblade Chronicles feature, "New Game +," like The Last Story?

I'm exactly 21 hours in, and I've completed 55 sidequests in Colony 9. I just received two sidequests that I'm required to complete, before I advance the story any further. These are the first sidequests I've received that have the stopwatch icon. Anyways, the Monado is F'ing awesome! I'm so glad I finally have it in my hands, because now I only have to worry about the gems I'm going to utilize in Shulk's weapon. I tried gem crafting for the first time, and I really have no idea what I'm doing. I created two rank 2 gems, though. Is that fairly good, because I really don't know? I guess practice makes perfect in this case, because the gem crafting instructions are pretty vague. :P

FYI, the timer quests just means that doing something or advancing to a certain point in the story will cause that quest to be incompletable, like in the Colony 9 Quests "Romantic notions of a Boy/Girl". If you give the item to the boy (Andreas), the quest given by the girl (Monica) will be unable to be completed and will end, and vice versa. Some quests will expire for other reasons, so if you are unsure about when they do, just ask here.
Anyways, SPOILER I actually refused the quest from Ortharon that lets you start rebuilding Colony 6, as all the Camp's timed quests will expire, and after a certain part in the story, Ortharon comes back into the main story, so you can talk to someone else for the same quest but a greater reward.

@SuperNictendo: IDK how you're going about it, but using B in battle has worked quite well for me, especially with these named monsters to find and defeat for quests. :3

Oh, the multiple choice quests only affect that character's specific affinity. Usually those people don't have future quests.

@TBD
Yeah, but it's still HAAARRDD...
It takes a lot to raise the affinity levels... I took my two new characters and slaughtered EVERYTHING on the Agora Shore in Colony 9 (Where level 31-40 monsters are) and still didn't increase affinity one level... I suppose I should gift them items...

Sorry about that @TysonQ7. I was trying to delete those posts before you posted again. I chose to tell the scientist his wife Francois was doing fine. I should've told him to go see her himself, right? Well, I answered Shulk and Reyn's Heart-to-Heart correctly, because I received the affinity hearts. I didn't receive an achievement for Shulk and Reyn's Heart-to-Heart. I must have answered one of the questions incorrectly, right? You can delete some of those posts if you want to @TysonQ7. Once again, I'm sorry about that my friend.

Remember, in a Heart-To-Heart, each question "gets" affinity. The hearts will "rise" if you answered smoothly, but "sink" if you answer insensitively.
Also, there is no "should have" with multiple choices. No matter what you can't make everyone happy.

No, it doesn't.
The crippled waste of NG+ you can find in Xenoblade is disappointing compared to TLS' NG+.

TLS' NG+ is perfect - just like Chrono Trigger - it carries over everything!! All items, all levels, all stats, EVERYTHING that is important to complete it 100%.

XBC's NG+ isn't even comprehensible. You can only take 30 items of each category over to a new file.

Ok, thanks @TysonQ7. I guess I did answer both of the Heart-to-Heart questions correctly, because I didn't see any hearts dropping on the screen. I guess you answered the scientist the same way I did, huh? Don't you think the scientist and his wife Francois would've both been happier if you tell him to go see her himself, though?

I dunno. Maybe. Check next playthrough. Anyways, if you answered all the questions right you should have an acheivement called "Heartwarming" in the Trials section.

@SKTTR, so you're not able to carry over your level, arts and skill tree you have earned in Xenoblade Chronicles?

Those are all carried over.
Completed quests and the maps you've filled out, etc. aren't though.

Sorry didn't mean to compare it to last story which I haven't beat yet just meant to confirm it does have a new game+ mode.

Yeah, are your achievements carried over as well? That would make it so much more enjoyable if they were, because that would make it so much easier to acquire any you didn't receive on your first playthrough. Which would make my second playthrough a more carefree experience.

@TysonQ7, you must be as big of a completionist as I am, huh? With all of the alternate outcomes in Xenoblade Chronicles, it definitely warrants a second playthrough. Well, in my opinion it does. :P
