Hopefully the Wii version of A Boy & His Blob becomes rare and coveted by collectors, as I have a sealed copy that (hopefully) I can offload in the future for a decent amount of cash.
I would have to add these underrated gems: "Zack and Wiki" "Mushroom Men" "Okami" "Tasunoko vs Capcom" "King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga" "Samurai Shodown Anthology"
WarioWare Smooth Moves seems to have gone down a bit (saw one at GameStop for $25), but I'm surprised how scarce it was when I was looking for one. Which is surprising since it was abundant when I first got my Wii in late 2007. Mario Party 8, pretty abundant and I got that a couple years after it came out.
Metroid Prime Trilogy looks like it will be a future rare game, especially the NTSC version. I do wonder if Zack & Wiki is going to pull a Shantae in the future. (cheap game nobody wanted suddenly turns expensive high-demand game) I hope Dewey's Adventure doesn't become rare, or I'd probably kick myself for not being five copies (I was at Best Buy, and there was a sale for like 5 Wii games on the clearance shelf for $25. Dewey was literally the only game on the shelf I was remotely interested in. So I paid the regular price. I forget what it was, probably between $10 and $20. Yep, I turned down buying four shovelware games for $5. )
it completely blows my mind how WLSI was getting 7 and 8's all across the boards on review sites, yet NSMBWii's was scoring the 9's and even 10's.
It would be confusing if you're strictly a solo gamer. The thing is when people come over nobody wants to gather around and watch you play with yourself. Wario will get played for six hours and NSMBW for fifty-six hours. Multiplayer is a huge deal.
I honestly got tired of NSMBWii's multiplayer...But that's because i was playing with people who completely blew at the game and 'Mario' in general.. It's fun at first, but if you're playing with somebody who doesn't know the ropes it becomes annoying pretty fast.
If you look past the super generic & semi-lazy artistic direction, the endless amounts of 1-ups being thrown at you making coin collecting and hitting up the mushroom houses feel completely pointless, simular World themes(if you've played the original DS version) and lack of VS(which was in the DS version) Multiplayer mode are the biggest dissapointments with NSMBWii....But then you look at the good stuff, like the brilliant level design from a platforming perspective, the phenomenal controls....mainly because Nintendo busted out that new Air Spin manouver by flicking the wii remote just so you can get that extra second of air which amps up the skill and helps considerably. Plus multiplayer can me a blast depending.
I just wish there would of been more creativity, originality and some memorable stuff we haven't exactly seen before. look at how crazy-different SMB 1, 2, 3 and world WERE from each other.....NSMBWii doesn't have it's on distinct flavour, and it feels extremely less fresh big time if you've already plowed your way through the DS origianl.
Bu ya, sure there's the new penguin and propeller suit, but meh.....They're pretty second rate suits compared to the Takooni/racoon tail and Fog suite hehe. Plus i would of thew in Princess peach as a playable instead of 'another Toad' and actually changed up the story line for once. If the princess gets kidnapped ONE more time Nintendo....I'll, I'll......I'll probably still dig it.
Anyways, still.....WLSI is underrated........ya...Maybe if it had multiplayer it would of been a greater hit. sigh* Which wouldn't of worked out to the gameplay style of the game anyways. lol I got the most out of it, and I'd give it a 10 hands down. NSMBWii i see as more as an 8.5....or an extremely low 9
....Who doesn't get Mario? Honestly, if you can't i understand Mario, then you fail at gaming in general, and don't deserve to play games
Seriously though, the massive abundance of 1ups wasn't as big of a problem in multiplayer imo, seeing how much of a competition it was (especially with four players) to get the items first, and bonus points if you snag any extras before the people who actually needed them got to them. Seriously, an amazing platformer from start to finish imo.
Definetly Metroid Prime Trilogy and No More Heroes will be hard to find. I know that because they are already. Good thing I've got both. By the way Metroid Prime Trilogy is arguably the best Wii game period.

I saw a copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy for $70 used at a local Gamestop, so get that (plus, it's three amazing games, so it's worth it to just play it.) Zack and Wiki and Okami are things people will want to look for in the future as well. No More Heroes is kind of interesting. For collecting purposes, get 2, mainly because I don't think it sold as well and is a much better game. Those 2 factors=more people wanting it. Metal Slug Anthology might also be a rarity, but considering that it can be bought on a PSP with better controls and readily available on PSN, then it might not be worth your while. Little King's Story did pretty bad in America too. Get that. Now that I think about it, any rated M game that wasn't Resident Evil 4 will be very hard to find in the future, seeing that none of them sold particularly well. Madword, No More Heroes, Silent Hill, heck, other Resident Evil games.

Speculating on game values is usually a losing proposition. If the games are good enough to continue selling, then they typically get updated or re-released for modern platforms to take advantage of that fact. But if I had to pick ten Wii games to hold onto then my list would look something like this:
1. The Beatles Rock Band - tons of copies sold, but the popularity of The Beatles isn't going to fade away in the next decade 2. Endless Ocean 1/2 - the first game sold out it's initial print run and saw prices jump until the reprint became available; entirely possible these games will be worth something later 3. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn - a great first-party SRPG game with a relatively small print run and small but loyal fanbase for the series 4. Geometry Wars Galaxies - brilliant game with tons of content, great appeal for retro and arcade fans 5. Klonoa - often-forgotten remake of a platforming classic that didn't sell very well but is still worth playing 6. Metroid Prime Trilogy - limited release in the West, already has inflated pricing, obvious pick 7. New Play Control Pikmin - when the next game in the series is released, increased interest will probably spike prices 8. Sakura Wars: So Long My Love - not sure if there will be enough demand to drive up prices, but a rare enough (and good enough) game that it should be worth keeping 9. Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World - good RPGs were tough to find this generation; even though this one isn't top-notch it's good enough to see demand after Wii dies off, especially since the Gamecube predecessor was a hit 10. Wario Land Shake It (aka Shake Dimension) - same as Fire Emblem, superb quality game that will be remembered as one of Wii's under-appreciated gems
As a bonus pick:
11. Atlus games (Shiren the Wanderer, Trauma Center/Team, Dokapon Kingdom, Baroque) - not sure any of them have a huge audience, but Atlus games always seem to be low print runs that are tough to find later; the Atlus-faithful always seem to provide a market too
Just for rarity, not for value I expect some of the new third party Nintendo Selects will become rare. Some games have a limited distribution I think. There are a few third party releases now like Avatar.
Also I think the original WiiS Sports in white box and not the carton sleeve will stay more expensive then the Nintendo Selects version.
I've considered picking up a new Wii Sports game just because the cardboard box scratched up my original version.
That's why with both Wii Sports and Link's Crossbow Training, I put the discs in generic DVD cases. I make a fake cover (well, with Wii Sports, a slightly Photoshopped PAL cover, and with Link I just got lazier and printed a scan of the cardboard sleeve) and stuck the original sleeve in the "manual" part of the case.
