Topic: Sell Your Wii for Wii U?

Would you sell your Wii console to get Wii U? Wii U does play Wii games and it seems that Wii U will, at the very least, keep Wii Motion Plus controllers alive.

Doesn't play Gamecube games though...

I don't play any Gamcube games on my Wii, anyways. I still wouldn't sell it, so I could afford a WiiU. Unless I was somehow able to download all of my WiiWare and VC titles onto the WiiU.

So for me it all depends on if Pikmin 3 and Paper Mario 3DS will make Pikmin 2 and TTYD look like crap. xD (which is probably not happening for TTYD, lol)
And of course if they decide to remake Wind Waker in some form.

I have way more downloadable games than I do disk games, like, 3 times as many, and I play gamecube games on my Wii. So no, absolutely not, not even if I was getting a Wii U.

Not unless I can somehow transfer my downloaded titles to it before selling.

No, because I don't want to lose my downloaded games and I still play and even sometimes still buy Gamecube games.

It will be the only way to play Brawl with a Gamecube controller so no.

Now that I think about it, you can't even transfer the saves from Brawl or Tri, so hellz no! xD

No. One should never sell a console to finance the next one or one will regret it in 5 / 10 / 20 years from now.

There is no way I'm keeping both, so yes, whether I can transfer downloads or not; I'd happily re-purchase the few downloads that I'm keen to have.

I don't regret selling my Gamecube for my Wii. I didn't lose anything from it as I can play all my GC games on the Wii.

I I was to get a Wii U, I wouldn't be selling my Wii. I use it for GC games and have spent a bit of cash on the Wii Shop, which I wouldn't want to use.

Plus, I can't imagine I'd get much for it even if I did sell it - second hand Wiis aren't exactly hard to come by...

By the time Wii U is released, the Wii will probably be retailing for $99.99. So how much can you get for a used one? Anyway, my consoles are old friends. No way I'd ever sell them.

since nobody in my school likes the wii, people just give me their wiis. i have 4. so i wouldnt mind selling a couple

@Burning_Spear, in the United States the new model Wii consoles are already selling for $99.99 brand new.

Not for a wii u but once I transfer my data from my wii to the wii u then il sell it

Also arnt those ones lacking GCN support at least the one he's talking about might have GCN support and that's also for wii games that use GC controlls not just the GCN disks
