Topic: Paper Mario 4

Do you think they will make a Paper Mario 4? I mean it's almost 2010, which means it's been 3 years since the last Paper Mario game. If they make a fourth Paper Mario game, it should be a standard RPG and no platforming. Do you think they'll make another one? I loved the Paper Mario games (The Thousand-Year Door was the best one in the series) but I was disappointed with Super Paper Mario though.

Personally, I don't consider Super Paper Mario to be part of the Super Mario RPG series as Paper Mario and Paper Mario 2 are because of its largely different direction. I would also like to see Paper Mario 4 as you said, though I may refer to it as either Paper Mario 3/Super Mario RPG 4 or Super Paper Mario 2, depending on how it is structured. Who knows, maybe this could be the game Charles Martinet was referring to in his posts...

I hope so because I was so excited when they announced the remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver for the DS!

I just got the perfect idea for another Mario RPG:

Mario & Sonic: Clash of the Mascots

Anyways, in this game; Bowser teams up with Dr. Eggman who kidnap both Princess Peach and Amy Rose. Mario teams up with Sonic (After fighting him briefly in the prelude) and must collect the seven chaos emeralds to stop Bowser and Eggman. Instead of badges Mario and Sonic uses Bracelets which have the same effect from the Paper Mario games. After completing a chapter like you do in the Paper Mario games, you get to play through Peach and Amy's scenarios like you did in the first two Paper Mario games. Bowser and Dr. Eggman would be the final bosses of the game. Anyone like my idea for a Mario/Sonic RPG crossover? Also Kammy Koopa needs to be in the game too. Anyways, instead of partners, you get characters from the Mario and Sonic universe:

Mario Characters:

Mario (Default character)
Luigi
Toad
Yoshi
Goomber (Similar to Gombario from PM1 and Gombella from TTYD)
Koopus (Similar to the Koopa sidekicks from the first two Paper Mario games)

Sonic Characters:

Sonic (Duh!)
Tails
Knuckles
Cream
E-103 Alpha (A new robot that was built by Eggman)
A New Sonic Character (Why not, every new Sonic games means a new recurring character)

Yes, Super Paper Mario which was a Platformer/RPG hybrid. It was ok though.

My guess is that it will come out on the next Nintendo console.

I don't see how anyone could consider SMRPG and PM as part of the same series (but then not including SPM within the PM grouping, tomfoolery is afoot.

I'd like a PM4, and of course I'd hope for it to be handled much the same way as TTYD was.

There's platforming in every Paper Mario game, just more so in SPM.

Mario & Sonic RPG? Nah.

I really don't care. I was very disapointed in Super Paper Mario, and never tryed the first one. If they did I would hope for it to be like the thousand year door.

LOL, don't we all. I for one loved Super Paper Mario, but agree it was nothing compared TTYD. The original was decent.

What, you don't like an RPG crossover with Mario and Sonic? What about Kingdom Hearts, it was a Disney/Final Fantasy crossover and besides it would do justice to those crappy Mario and Sonic Olympic games.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic (and Winter Olympic) Games was far from crappy. And whilst I'd like to see the crossover taken into new territories, RPG isn't the right way.

Okay so The Olympus games weren't that bad but how can Mario and Sonic have a crossover; platforming, mini-game collection, I give up? But I really do want a Paper Mario 4 but I want it to be an RPG and not like SPM. I haven't played Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story but I heard it's awesome.

@Main Topic: the next game will most likely be with Nintendo's new console. I would also like a RPG instead of an platformer/RPG hybrid.

@M&S RPG: Would be a cool idea, but Nintendo would have to take over the production because Sonic can't really translate to RPG very good without extreme care. The possibility of it happening is actually quite good, so it's not out of the realm of reality. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

If the next Paper Mario is like Super Paper Mario, then I want no part of it. That game was terrible.

I personally think it's not necessary i mean we just had a mario luigi RPG a month ago (Bowsers inside Story) i think by 2010 there will be another one i personally want a new Starfox game.do more then any other Nintendo franchise game.

I do agree that the next PM better not be like SPM.

I wonder what Paper Mario 5 will be like?
