The gameplay videos look pretty cool. What I'm concerned about is that this could turn out similar to Red Steel 1, in that the trailers make the game look fun to play, then you play the game itself and it turns out to be a boring mess. Still, I have faith Ubisoft won't screw the sequel up. Shame there won't be any multi-player.

Well, this looks much better than Red Steel, and I liked the first one.

I wish we were on such good terms, Iwata only delivered my pizza

Seriously? That blows. Multi-player was the only redeeming factor for the first Red Steel. Oh, well, as long as the game turns out better than its predecessor--which is looking like it will--then I'll buy it (not until it gets a price drop, though)...

This is the very same fanbase that wants quality 3rd party offerings, yet complain about the smallest things from non-Nintendo fare.
good point. whether they succeed or fail these people are working hard to give you the games you've been asking for. if you see any of those jason vandenberghe interviews it's obvious that the team making red steel 2 feels bad for letting people down with the first game and is working it's artichoke off make this one great. i say give them a chance; plenty of games have made far worse first impressions only to turn out amazingly good. personally, i don't see anything wrong with it; it already looks way better than the conduit turned out to be.
I'm beginning to be concerned about this game in terms of future sales. There's no hype and not many people are preordering it from Amazon for example (never been in Wii's top 100, where Monster Hunter Tri already is for example). I really hope this title sells really well.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...

i admit to holding out until full reviews come in. i'd love to preorder and have it on launch day, but $50 is a lot to gamble and i've been burned before. in my opinion 3rd party companies have to shoulder the blame for this skepticism the wii audience has towards them; they've put out so many mediocre games and the few good ones are usually the "let's humor them with a rail shooter" type, which doomed themselves to a total lack of interest from the start by not attempting to be a real game.
everything i've seen suggests red steel 2 is a genuinely pure effort from people who know what they're doing by now, so i hope it sells well but at the same time i'm not willing to buy it myself without proof that it's good. i think a lot of wii fans may feel the same; if the game's going to attract reluctant buyers it has to be great. it sucks that no one trusts 3rd party developers anymore, but that's how it is.

well, changed my mind. the game just sounds fun and i'd rather find out myself whether i like it or not than listen to someone else. plus, after thinking about it i guess i'd feel guilty for not doing my part to prevent another potentially great game from tanking, so kudos mnementh for bringing it up.
