That dragging around scene looked fantastic! (and how the dude kept his hat on the whole time, I'll never know...) However, the controls looked pretty touchy for that guy... Also, I'm really not liking the cartoony look and feel of the swordplay, with its colorful "whoosh" effect surrounding the tip of the blade, it seems a little scaled down...Also, the swordplay itself seems to move too fast. Things are happening frantically, I can only assume that one only needs to (and probaly will) slash around randomly, which wouldn't make for enjoyable gameplay at all...Hopefully some more technical fights will be introduced later...
I have been playing Wii non-stop in my free time the past week. I'd say I'm pretty damn pleased.
This isn't a Nintendo game anyway. I am not part of Ubisoft's fan base to begin with, though I thought the original Red Steel was all right considering the difficulties they faced. Multi-player was a blast if your friends learned the controls well enough to have a chance. Believe it or not, there is a gap between a single negative comment and "unpleasable."
Relax Adam. Sometimes when there is a single negative comment, I laugh and think about all the executives that say the Nintendo fanbase is unpleasable. This is the very same fanbase that wants quality 3rd party offerings, yet complain about the smallest things from non-Nintendo fare.
As for the topic, I don't care too much for Ubisoft either, but I still think this game looks like a lot of fun (even if it does look a touch repetitive).

I am quite relaxed, thanks for your concern. I'm playing Shiren the Wanderer, a 3rd party Wii title. Good way to relax. I voice my criticisms (and praise), whether for first or third party. And I own more third-party games than first. If you were just making a joke about some general trend, I don't know anything about that, just speaking for myself to say that's not the case. Sometimes a game just doesn't look fun.

Relax kid. We are just talking about games, don't get all worked up over it. Try to be open-minded and don't judge a game before you have played it.
The mechanic of this game cannot seem more simple, a basic shootemup with a chaotic and light-speed swordplay. It looks and feels really terrible for me, while it is clear they did put some effort developping it.
Did I wake up in bizarro land today, where everyone on the forum has been replaced by Retrobuttons clones? I shudder to think.
I'm not sure how I could be any less relaxed without being in a hot tub typing to you guys. But I don't feel like risking electrocution to prove anything, kid. Just look at what you're doing: quoting a post saying that I am relaxed and then telling me to relax, don't get worked up.
I'm open-minded. I just said the game doesn't look good. Try to be open-minded yourself. The world is not full of lollipops and bubble gum. Polite criticism is as welcome on a forum as praise.

Not if there are fanboys around. Anyways, I agree with Adam.
Just let it happen.

Well, while I'm at it, I might as well add that shooting the doors seems awkward and forced. The graphics look better than last time I'd seen it though. I quite like the style and theme of the game. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised but not crossing my fingers. Looks intriguing enough to be rent-worthy.
