Wow, my demo disc actually arrived today!

Took some time to play around with the first hunt, using the light bow and great sword. Not quite sure what I think of the game based only on first impressions. It's interesting and looks like there is some decent depth, but the people who called controls "clunky" definitely have a fair complaint. I want to see how much I can figure out about the (demo) game myself, and will probably do some research online afterwards. If it ends up being enjoyable then I'll pick MH3 up when it releases.

I mentioned the demo to the the guys at one of my local Game Stops, and they had no clue what I was talking about. Not surprising, considering they also seemed to have no clue how to breath with their mouths closed.

If you head north on the map, you can mess around with the underwater critters. There is also a fishing hole on the right side of the camp where you start.

I don't find the controls very clunky (unless your using the wiimote/nuncuck combo), but then again, I'm used to Phantasy Star 0, where you have to time your attacks properly.

Was this supposed to come with an instruction manual of some sorts, 'cuz if it was I'm mad. Could someone at least post the controls on here for me and how to load a bow and arrow? (I'm playing remote and nunchuk, btw)

I picked one up at Gamestop this morning. The lady tried getting me to preorder it. I told her no thanks I will try this first. While I had fun during the demo I do not think it will be on my purchase list. I am looking for a good JRPG and thankfully the Wii is getting some this year. All in all though great graphics for Monster Hunter Tri.

@longtimegamer: Because that would mean they were being ignored. It's all right though, because when I went back, almost all of them were taken.

@Birdman13: It should have come with a little poster detailing the remote/nunchuck controls. Can't post them (have no way to...), but try checking here:

TwilightV - Thanks for the link. I found and downloaded the PDF, so I'll print that out and hopefully enjoy it more. If not, I can cancel the preorder and use the money perhaps to get Flip's Twisted World and a Classic Controller Pro, or pay back my uncle for my recent eBay gaming purchases.

Exactly.

I got the demo disk of MH3 at a local gamestop when I picked up No More Heroes 1. I looked around the store for a while before I actually bought NMH1, and I heard about the demo disks on their TV in there, so I thought hey, it's free! The clerk gave it to me free and politely asked if I wanted to pre-order, I said I was fine so I walked out of the store with NMH1 and MH3 demo disk. If your gamestop denies you a free demo disk then don't support it go somewhere else for your games (if you can)

Anyway, I've tried the demo disk twice, but gave up before the time ran out both times dying once. I'm going to have to try this more considering there's a ton of weapons to choose from, also the fact that I'm not good at it makes a difference.

go to www.virtualhamgames.com for great original independent games, a help service, and reviews for our games.

I sent out about a dozen about two and a half weeks ago but never heard from anyone about getting them. I'm betting the people that sent the first emails to me were lurkers to the site and just wanted the free stuf since I know if anyone who posts regularly would've acknowledged it.

I like to do that kind of thing from time to time, along with little contests (I'm thinking up a writing contest for Free VC games now lol), so just an FYI, when I do things where I need you to send me an email, make sure you put your screenname here on it so I make sure you guys are the ones getting the opprotunity. I'm sorry if I let anyone down.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Hey Rowdy, thanks for organising these demo discs to everyone, I'm sure those who received them were very grateful.

Just as a quick reminder, our community rules don't allow user-run competitions. Sorry to have to pooh-pooh it but I hope you understand.
