Huh, it's way easy! Also remember you don't have to hit down every time. Letting it go won't mess up your multiplier.
I've had 4 people try it now and they all have the same complaint @_@. Also, I know about the don't press down thing.
Does your TV have some video processing that throws the controls out of synch? Many newer TVs do, so it's worth checking to see if there is a Game mode available. Also try using the calibration option from the main menu - that option ensures that you can fix any lag or timing issues (assuming there is an issue to fix and you aren't just rhythm-challenged like me).
Although I agree that it's brutally hard to keep the rhythm and keep that multiplier growing, that's part of the appeal of the game. Otherwise it would be easy and kind of pointless. Same thing can be said about the multiplier being lost completely when you miss; it's just like Bit.Trip Beat that way... and I mean that as a compliment.
I received my copy this morning. This game is SO MUCH FUN! I actually had to force myself to stop. It sucks you in like the best puzzle games do, but doing it to the beat just makes the game so cool.
I've watched videos of the game before, but just watching it is not the same thing as playing it. It all makes sense now. I think this may be the most fun of any of my WiiWare games!

I can't for the life of me calibrate it right! I swear, I've tried countless times to get it to work, and it usually does for the first half of the song. Then the beat slightly changes, and I struggle a little. But then the beat goes back to it's original pace, and I'm apparently completely thrown off!
It's sad, I want it to work. I really do. So I'm going to keep trying until things are fine and dandy. Until then, I'm still enjoying the game!
Empty Clip Studios took a risk and they benefited greatly from it. Just hearing all of you guys hear about and play the game for the first time and come out with positive impressions makes me happy for them.

I often struggle as well, but I don't believe calibration is the issue in my case. During certain parts of the song, I'll hit it right just by listening, but through other stretches I have to judge it more by when the blocks pulsate. I get the hang of it after a couple times through a song, though, in general.

Wow... how many levels have you guys unlocked so far? The first set was easy, but going through the medium difficulty level is a big jump! So far I haven't even been able to open the second tier of songs there (granted, my play time has been fairly limited).
Still really enjoying the game, and starting to improve. With enough practice I'll be a Groovin' Master!
I really enjoyed the mechanics of Casual but I feel like the complexity of Experienced and above ruins part of the simple and fun strategies that I enjoyed. I can't get even a single star and so I wonder if I'll be able to even progress through Experienced.
Back to the positives, I really enjoyed Casual and played for a couple hours, thoroughly addicted. The music is unique, varied and catchy, especially for a downloadable title.

I had bought this about a month ago and generally liked it despite not being too big on puzzle games usually. I had great fun with the first set of levels but still struggle getting any stars on the second. I think I've gotten a few at this point. If you get frustrated that you can't progress just try to do better on the first set of stages.
I think one of the things I love most about this game is that I can just use my sense of rhythm, which is very good, without worrying about my coordination, which is very bad. Most rhythm games involve coordination, and I can never seem to do it. This one plays more like Tetris, but you tap along to the beat to get the timing right. Every time I've turned on my Wii in the past couple days I've ended up playing Groovin' Blocks before powering off.
