That is indeed legit. They confirmed it quite a while ago.

it'd be a little late to change the release date now.

I'm curious - are Bond games released here in the UK first like Bond films are?

Same week, so three days later like pretty much all games.

I want them to release a direct feed version of the first level. Bet that'd shut a lot of the graphics trolls up.

No, it's significantly darker than it would be in person and the general quality isn't as good, you just have to compare it to the shots from trailers which are much, much clearer. I mean direct feed like recorded with a VCR!

this nugget from the producer about their version vs. the original- "Let's put it this way: I wouldn't go back to play it again."

His loss, the original game still plays amazingly well, unless you're a spoiled "dual-analogue" type of FPS gamer (which I'm sure most are nowadays). I've played on both styles and I found precise aiming to be much less troublesome on GoldenEye, while lining up a headshot on a dual-analogue was quite tedious. I still play my original GoldenEye cartridge all the time, in fact just yesterday my brother, best friend and I played multi-player for about 5 hours straight. Let's hope that this revamp is fun enough to bring about the same results...

"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."

i still feel like goldeneye and perfect dark have a better controller setup than modern dual analog games do. there's something about using digital buttons for strafing that i like much more than an analog stick. and the sensitivity always feels right with no thoughts of adjusting it. the wiimote still wins, but i wish they'd let you use the mini D pad to strafe to keep some of that feel.

The goldeneyegame.com search game thing only has one mission left to unlock and then it's finished!

Also it seems the design of Xenia has changed, originally she was blonde and many people didn't like that so now she's been made a brunette!

Double post but spoileriffic video here, shows a lot of crucial plot moments(they seem to be assuming we've at least seen the film) but the footage seems to be using the wiimote and nunchuk and looks great from a graphics standpoint. You also that Xenia is in fact not blonde as originally planned. http://uk.gamespot.com/wii/adventure/goldeneye007/video/6280406

The only graphical downside seems to be circular shadows but it still looks absolutely phenomenal and I only noticed when I specifically looked for the shadows.

The game is looking better and better. I like how the game's campaign mode gives you options on how to kill. Silently, All-out in the open, or a mix. Hopefully, the game's AI is good. I'm a little worried that the enemies may turn around when you're sneaking up on them though like they do sometimes in other shooting games. The multiplayer looks like it will be fun, too. I'm just lacking friends that enjoy Wii games over those on the HD consoles.

Yeah it looks absolutley GREAT! Just GREAT!

best video yet. for all the flak it's getting over character models, the facial accuracy is amazing. for any system. the story also keeps looking better and better, it genuinely seems like a reason to play in itself rather than just being tacked on like the original.

here's another where some guys in the studio play splitscreen. you can see some of the weapon loadouts and my favorite mw2 gun (vector) is in there: http://www.gamespot.com/wii/adventure/goldeneye007/video/6280799

Hang on, I think all the trailers were made at the same time(or they got the guys to wear the same clothes:P) so the footage in that trailer might not be any more recent than the others.... which really showcases the difference between the quality of single player and multiplayer... and also means that they might have been able to further polish the graphics. Of course the game footage might have been edited in lately.

Anyway can't wait now! Only a month which means it should have gone gold!

looking at that multiplayer makes it clear how much it's modern warfare with a little goldeneye mixed in, rather than the other way around. the loadouts are the same and contain most of the same guns even, but it's nice that they still let you compete to pick some weapons up like the old game. rather than being bummed out about the FPS standardization i'm beginning to look at it as a version of modern warfare that's actually fun to play, and that's not a bad thing.

single player on the other hand looks a lot more faithful to the original game. most of the levels look foreign, but the number of level designs still pilfered from the original makes me wonder how they've gotten away without getting sued by rare. maybe they reached some agreement where rare will be able to release their 007 update on xbla if nintendo could use their maps first?

Why couldn't Perfect Dark be nicknamed "Combat Evolved". If that kind of game would have evolved to modern Fps, we would have a true winner with numerous bots, stages and weapons. What do we got today? Numerous games which are in many ways less developed than that 10 year old N64 classic....
