@LZBirdboi I'm confused. Your words agree with me, but your tone does not.
@swordx Some people live in places where an outlet only contains two slots. And let's not forget that many people have other devices connected to their TVs as well.

Anyways, this would't be a problem for me, since I have enough places to plug in stuff, but for people who live in an apartment, this could be quite problematic. One plug is taken up by the TV, another by the console. Then you have lights in the room, as well as other appliances. I'm not saying this will be the case for everyone, but it seems a big enough issue for a big enough portion of the audience potentially buying this device to bring up.

I live in an apartment that's quite old (it has outdated appliances in it) and I have plenty of outlets. The trick is to use the outlets that aren't around the TV. You can also buy a surge protector to give yourself more options (plus surge protection)

So Nintendoland has been freezing up quite a bit for me. Unplugging didn't really resolve anything, it just kept hanging up either on the attraction screen or right before i go into a mini-game.

I tried to just remove the disc and re-insert it, and it seems to be doing just fine now. At least it's a temp fix until this patch is released!

Hope that helps any of you.

@Codyshelby I think most people in the thread have it downloaded, so that's impossible for them. Still, I suppose you have a fix for the minority. :3

I wouldn't pay too much attention to reviews for consoles. Over here we have a newspaper that a while a go said that no one should buy the wii u with umpteen reasons why. The same newspaper on Friday said it was number 1 on people's gift lists! Go figure!

Why does it matter honestly?

Everyone likes or dislikes things based on their own opinion. If the team over at IGN felt the Wii U was a 7.6 for a system, based on their own individual experiences, the more power to them.

Its not going to stop me from having an absolute blast with my own Wii U. To each their own. Just enjoy the systems and games you have. Reviews are nice if you're on the fence on getting something, but if you're someone like me who wanted a Wii U regardless, just buy the system and enjoy it.

Wow, someone made a thread about it while I wasn't looking. Why do people care? It's just stupid to rage at IGN for what seems like reasonable criticism. Also brand loyalty is nice when you're into a brand because of the content they produce, good experiences you've had or when you like their build quality or whatever. When it gets to the point when you can't take someone's criticism of it you're an idiot. When it gets to that sort of fever you're just as bad as the people who queued for every single new version of the iPhone and iPad and take every criticism of their products as a personal insult.

edit: and the battery life does seem pretty pathetic. I saw a taredown of the console and the battery in it is actually smaller than the 3DS and as small as the DSLite despite the space in there being cavernous. Not good given the screen is that big. Maybe they made it smaller to cut costs? Makes you wonder how long before there will be official (or otherwise) larger batteries for it. I'm wondering whether anybody using it has turned down the brightness to conserve battery life a bit.

lol @ the suggestion that even USB3 is not "cutting edge" as a storage interface. Like people are walking around with external SSDs for mass storage, it sucks that it's only USB2 (100Mbps) but USB3 (1Gbps) would have been plenty enough for most mass storage (500-700Mbps). Oh and it gets worse. The GamePad doesn't use WiFi to communicate with the Wii U? Umm... it DOES use WiFi quite literally. It's in the 5Ghz range though and suffers from the same distance/wall problem as all 5Ghz comms. There will be no hardware revision that remedies the distance problem.

IGN's criticism was educated and based on actual reasonable complaints. These guys simply don't know what they're talking about.
