So hey guys. I passed over the Wii, but after seeing wii u could play wii games i bought the metroid trilogy, the motion plus+nunchucks and motion bar.

But holy hell its so hard to get it to work, i hardly think this is how people play metroid or otherwise they would thrash it.

I got two diffrent wireless motion bars, tried them seperatly, together, on top, next to each other etc. It works, but its hardly precise, when i get it to work the best i have to hold my hand very still infront of the beam and then its still not smooth. Tried going from 1 meter from the tv to all the way to the wall.

Tried everything in the settings aswell.

So is there a know issue with the Wireless motion bars? or does the Wii U not do it as good?. How do you setup a working connection?.I can play Mario Galazy, but there you hardly have to aim just waggle it.

Before im willing to shell out for another motion bar, this time with wires,i would like to hear from people who have gotten it to work on wii u.

For correction, i get it to show on screen, but its hardly so precise i see other people do it.

Only use 1 sensor bar. Also make sure your settings are set correctly and the sensor is not set too high. What makes it not precise? Is the pointer jumping around?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Ok i should clarify, it dosent register all the time, unless i hold it on a very specific angle, and that angle is very very small, so i can hardly aim to to the left or right. And when the pointer does show up its kinda jerky. Like i get it to show for 1 second then i want to aim to the left and it disappers again.

Im going to try with 1 sensor bar and reset the settings. There should be no diffrent between a wired and a non wired right?

My main frustration is that even though i get it to work, this can hardly be how people play it since if it was so i think people would not talk so highly of the metroid triology.

@Kefkahkefkah: Yeah, you should only be using 1 sensor bar and it should be clear of obstruction. Most people hold a controller lower than their eye level, closer to waist level, and so you need to make sure it is clear for that level. Also make sure you position the sensor correctly. Middle of the screen and positioned top or bottom, depending on what you select in the settings.

Pointing this out just in case....no sunlight. It messes with the controller.

Alright i got it working better now, but still far far from a smooth expierence.I got so little space to work with before it breaks contact its just annoying. I guess it is just a gimmick after all. I think i will download this for the gamecube emulator so i can be able to play it. Only other option is hoping a wired sensor bar works better.

I feel like i wasted so much money down the drain just to be able to play metroid i will have no bad conscience getting it for a gamecube emulator. Sensor bars, wii controls and the metroid prime trilogy game, damn i so deserve to get this working like everyone else seems to :/

Really want this to work though, seems so cool to have this controll scheme.

Thx for the reply!

@Kefkahkefkah: Like DefHalan said, you only need one Wii Sensor Bar. What kind are you using? Because the official one from Nintendo is wired. I'm thinking you're using a third party sensor bar; third party stuff isn't always the best quality.

Also, make sure the sensor on your Wiimote is clean; I've had that problem as well.

Anyway, it should be working fine, there are some games out there with finicky controls, but Metroid Prime has always been a smooth experience for me.

Sunlight is and distance are the main things that screw up the sensor bar accuracy.

Make sure you check your settings and the system can be configured for placing the sensor bar on the top of the screen or the bottom of the screen. If it's not set correctly it could cause problems. There is also levels of sensitivity you can change depending on environment.

Also it should be noted that it typically does not shoot straight out in a straight line from the wii mote to the cursor. You might have unrealistic expectations of accuracy.

Lastly you can try out the sensor bar on the gamepad itself to ensure your wiimote is working properly. Just set it to display on the gamepad and you can point directly at the gamepad screen. Doing this you will notice that it isn't straight which is actually more convenient. You hold the controller more comfortably rather than raising it up to eye level to line up a shot.

When you buy a new Wii U, it comes with a wired sensor bar. They work well, so I would track an official one down.

It could be that the unofficial sensor bars have bad LED's(or less than 10), you can check it by pointing your smartphone camera or digital camera at the sensor bar and counting the number of purple-ish lights inside. Or perhaps it's the Wii Remote that's faulty(is that an official one?). The Wii remote has a camera that sees the LED's inside the sensor bar, if the camera is bad, the quality of the LED's inside the bars doesn't matter.

If u have any light sources close to your tv, remove them or turn them off. Also if u have a window behind or very close to your tv, close the window drapes because sunlight also screws up the wii-mote.
