There was a lot of complaint about the 3DS price, what are you hoping the Wii 2 price will be? The wii was about £180 at launch, but with their portable console the 3DS costing £190 if you got it cheap, will you be expecting the Wii 2 to be about £250? What's your opinion, would you buy it if it cost about £250, or do you think it will be lower or higher priced?

Wii was going up against two massively expensive consoles, so I think the price was inflated somewhat. I also think that we're seeing a change in strategy from Nintendo, with 3DS being (initially) so expensive. Although you can get it for around £160 now. So, the 3DS is expensive and only being bought by the enthusiasts, leaving plenty of DSi/DSi XL for the masses. I see the same thing happening with Cafe/Wii. Whatever they've got planned I think it will be pricey. Not massively so, but enough to make me initially think twice like I did with the 3DS. Cafe will be £300.

After the PS3 and 3DS launch price debacles, it's hard to see how Nintendo is going to be able to price their next console to make a profit on the hardware alone as they have in the past. A lot depends upon how powerful the console is going to be. Bleeding-edge performance doesn't come cheap. Will they compromise to keep the cost under control? Only time will tell.

Put your analyst on danger money, baby.

I'd bet $350 or less, depending on its other features.

At cdon.se you can preorder it for 4999kr. That equals to around 555€ :O Sure they don´t have a clue what it will cost. They also names it "Project Café/Feel" instead of elsewhere "Stream".

Slightly more powerful than a PS3 is hardly bleeding-edge. :P

I'm thinking the console will be (relatively) cheap, around $199-299, with expensive controllers (around $99) to make up for it.

PS3 is arguably the most powerful console, so if Wii 2 is more powerful then it will be bleeding edge.

Yeah, i do hope Nintendo make the Cafe more powerful than the PS3. They really need to get rid of that cartoony feel, and make their games feel more life-like. Although, if it is more powerful than the PS3, we'd be looking at something expensive. I can't afford to fork out £300 after i just payed £190 when i pre-ordered my 3DS, I'll have no money!!! :-(

PS3 is arguably the most powerful console, so if Wii 2 is more powerful then it will be bleeding edge.

"Bleeding edge technology refers to technology that so new that it could have a high risk of being unreliable and may incur greater expense in order to use it.[1] The term bleeding edge is formed as an allusion to "leading edge" and its synonym cutting edge, but tends to imply both a greater degree of risk and advancement." --Wikipedia.

It's a next-gen console that's slightly more powerful than the most powerful current-gen console. The most powerful console for a year or two? Sure. But I'd say calling it "bleeding edge" is a stretch when it's not leaps and bounds ahead of current-gen technology.

If you don't like them, buy the realistic games instead. It's that simple.

A question better saved for tuesday, when more is known about what the system actually's going to offer. No way they're going to spill the beans on the pricetag this E3.

Right now, I'm betting on a price between 300-400 dollar/euro. If it's on par with current systems, it's not that expensive to produce. The controller's going to affect it though, like pixelman said.

I gazillion dollars.
But really about 300- 450 dollars. The controllers will be the thing to rake in the dough though (about $99 easy).

hopefully 300-350 bucks, or Nintendo is committing suicide, especially with PS3 and PSP major price drop. Also, the 3DS is majorly expensive for a Nintendo handheld. If Nintendo wants to beat the competition, they WILL MAKE IT AFFORDABLE.

I could see $449.99 being a realistic launch price.

Then the price will be brought down 1 year later to $349.99

Then $299.99

Then $249.99

and eventually $199.99 in 2018.
