So here I am with my Keyboard connected to the Wii U and reading about the Unreal Engine 4 running in HTML5. Nintendo did go on and on about HTML 5 support but the reality is when you try to play one via the browser it runs like crap. And most of the times there are additional problems, like for instance games requiring to press ZXC does not work even with the Keyboard plugged in.
Why can't there exist an app that allows you to run HTML games as fast as possible on the Wii U? I was also hoping a game like Town of Salem would work, but that requires Flash.
Alot of things are making the transition to HTML5, so there's more behind this than what Nintendo supports.
People were criticising Wii U's ability to do flash, but now Xbox One and PS4 don'e either. It's all part of a transition to better internet programs that aren't widely available yet.

None of the new consoles support flash plug-ins.
I was about to ask why Nintendo was supporting a arcahic standard.
What?
I think it depends on how flexible the programs themselves are. A game that runs in HTML5, still usually has a certain platform in mind. Epic Games had an HTML5 game called Epic Citadel, but it didn't work on anything besides PC, as far as I know. They didn't allow the software itself to adapt to whatever device you may be using(besides PC).
I couldn't care less about Flash Games and the such. Flash as standard especially when it comes to website design is a blight on the internet. It helps that the only device I have with flash in it is my PC and I turn it off every now and than.
I'm only interested in HTML replacing flash for video and website design.
Just wish more websites would move to repressive design.
WAT!

nintendo has a good reason for not wanting web browser games to run good, or at all. they have their own eshop that makes them a profit when people buy games from them. not saying that they are going out of their way to prevent it, but it certainly isnt a priority for them.
the original wii had flash, and i do remember there being a bunch of games that did work well, as well as some that were made specifically with the wii browser in mind. though im pretty sure it was only point and click games. and of course it was slow and buggy so it wasn't a great experience.
im sure nintendo doesnt like the idea of someone playing one of the millions of mario rip off web games on an official nintendo system, and then possibly having other people think its the real deal and thinking nintendo made such a low quality game.
Still don't get my super slow laptop can do some of these games, but my Wii U can't...
My Wii U has been gathering some dust just because it seems to refuse do anything extra that might be useful.
I used to enjoy the browser but it takes for ever to load pages then Gets stuck , nintendo need to sort this out
It's infuriating
Weird, I always have 5 tabs open and usually am watching something KissAnime, googling something and screwing around on YouTube, I use it at least twice a week and I've seldom run into that problem.

I don't have any problems. I've been able to run videos in 720p @ 60FPS on the browser. The browser only focuses on one tab at a time. There's something wrong with your internet if the browser doesn't work, because you can't even blame Nintendo servers at all, at that point.

Try running a simple game at 60FPS, then come back.
The NetFront NX browser does what it's supposed to: help you find information about games. Supporting HTML5 elements is not only optional, but also only partly Nintendo's responsibility. ACCESS builds the NetFront browser, and their HTML5 support in general is lacking.

Are you talking about an HTML5 games? HTML5 is still undergoing development, for the most part. The only reason why HTML5 isn't running that well on Wii U, is because Google isn't involved, or the HTML5 programs aren't programmed to scale on anything besides PC.
Your "crummy" laptop is a sure sign that PCs are being targeted moreso than the Wii U, because that's the platform they're being developed on in the first place.
These HTML5 programs have to be able to scale and understand the hardware they're running on.
