Yeah, that's pretty annoying. I have a PS2 for playing DVDs on but I keep having to move it from the bedroom to the lounge... It's hardly expensive to buy another DVD player but it would have been nice to just play them through the Wii U, especially if it supported Blu Ray.
So basically, Netflix needs to quadruple its content so I don't have to bother with discs anymore.

I do like the channel interface on the Wii, so I hope they keep that; I don't really care if there's folders or anything like that. Mostly I just want the online aspects to be faster and feel more integrated; less like the 11th-hour add-on they appear to be. It's pretty clear after having this system for many years and using it to game online as well as download files, that the network software seems focused more on ensuring download integrity than speed - hopefully they'll do better in the next machine.
Any of the 2 concept arts would please me. I've never owned XBOX 360 or PS3, so i can't fully describe the interface (but from what GameStop showed us, the PS3 interface looks really sh*tty bad. THe streamlined "Metro" on 360 was good though). Basically, HD gaming and other forms of media "Hulu/+ and Netflix" would be pleasant enough. I don't boot a game console to watch DVD's, I got a computer for that. I just want the web with HTML5 and the ABILITY TO PLAY COMPLETE games.
As long as they have online that is like a community, allows easy communication with others, is fast, and has an efficient system, I'll be ok. I don't care so much how they do it, I would like them to be original but beggars can't be choosy. Online most importantly would be a good draw for third party. I don't really care about the UI that much, just don't let it be a pain in my butt. I liked the UI of the Wii, but I know they are going to make some changes so just let those changes be good and not confusing and what not.
