Topic: What classic early 3D environment game do you want to see remade on the WiiU

With windwaker HD coming out, it made me think about the games that I'd love to be remade with updated visuals. I'll give you my short list. Feel free to share yours but there is a caviat. The remade game needs to be one in which only the graphics need to be updated (and of course sound as well). No 2D to 3D updates! The original Legend of Zelda completely remade from the ground up to make it a 3D environment game, would be a travesty in my opinion as I really believe the graphics hold up today. We're talking face lifts only then, not revolutionary changes (unless it fixes some major flaw in the game). Lets see what you come up with that would be incredible on that gamepad!

1) Final Fantasy 7 (brilliant game that looks horrible today. Those sprites are just awful against the environments.
2) Majora's Mask. Those N64/ps1 games are some in the most need for repolishing. It was a weird transitional era for gaming graphics.
3) Skies of Arcadia. While the GameCube saw Legends come out with updates from the dreamcast, it's graphical fidelity is hard to get around.
4) Tiny toons. Here's a big throwback! This came out on the NES. One of my favorite platformers. With Ducktails being rereleased too, maybe this one has a
shot?

So there's my short list. What about you?

1. Super Mario Sunshine- looking at The Wind Waker HD and how great it looks, I think it would be the perfect next step! It's all about water just like The Wind Waker, so they could probably use the same graphics engine. I just think this game would look breathtaking in HD, and it's a great way to introduce this game to a new audience, and people that haven't played it before. Also it's 3D Mario, it's gonna sell A LOT.

Do you think Mario sunshine would work better as a eShop exclusive or a full packaged game? I think my first two picks would be great retail items, but the last two should be eShop games.

I think it could be both, but would probably be sold retail, similar to The Wind Waker HD.

TBH at the moment, i would rather have new IP's and new experiences, rather than re makes of games.

While re making a game thats familiar and that may cause interest in the console, surely new IPs showing the consoles true ability and getting interest that way would be much better.

Familiar games are all well and good, but re makes don't sell consoles. People love Mario etc, but surely thats only to a specific and limited clientele. Why not make something that will appeal to the wider audience and get more interest and more consoles sold.

Yea, we'd all love new IP's. I'm still asking the question regardless. It's all just hypothetical anyway. This post being hypothetical, stands in a vacuum outside selling consoles and creating new games. Lets just throw things out and reminisce whilest doing it. Thanks

Super Mario 3D World needs to have Mushroom Castle returning as a hub world. It doesn't have to be an exact recreation of Super Mario 64's hub world, but it can be just as expansive as Super Mario 64's hub world. Imagine how fun it would be to explore the Mushroom Castle with your friends! Plus, the Mushroom Castle can have areas that lead into Super Mario 3D World's worlds, or an optional map similar to Super Mario 3D Land's map.

Now that I think about it, an HD remake of Super Mario 64 that has Super Mario 3D World-quality graphics would be awesome.

If they were going to re make anything, i would love it to be Super Mario 64!!

MAYBE Sonic Adventure 2 Battle..but I can't remember if that game was fun or not (I think it was though). It could have online multiplayer which would be really cool though

Does Paper Mario count as a 3D environment game? That would also make for a nice remake

All of the other games I would suggest aren't 3D environment games so I'm not going to post them

I would also suggest Metroid/Pikmin but those were already remade on Wii so it would be very unlikely for them to be remade..AGAIN..haha

Star Fox Adventures off the Gamecube and make a sequel on the Wii U, I reckon that would be a system seller

mario 64 would be amazing with a hd makeover. one of the best i can think off alot of 3d enviroment games on the n64 still look pretty great now, the likes of banjo kazooie and especially tooie or rocket robot on wheels look amazing compared to the uglyness of the playstation.

Not gonna happen, but i want this.

Majora's Mask remake, even though it's much more likely to land on the 3DS. My reasoning is, I'd rather see it in HD then in depth with 3D. Wind Waker is enough to satisfy me, MM is just the next best I can think of imo. No wait, actually, forget MM, Pokemon Colosseum
