I find it hard to take AAA developers seriously when AE's statement nails them on the head.

What, was the company name ABC Games not available? Anyway, at first I thought it as pretty silly but the more I think about it I see it as a pretty bold marketing move for a new company that will get some attention now by calling out the big boys. They better bring it on Friday though.

These new guys have some gutsy talk, that's for sure, but we shall see if they have the walk to back it up.

as long as they spread chaos and turn the world of gaming upside down with clever challenges and barely achieving their claims(never failing but always struggling, like Manga main characters) those guys are fine

I hope this is real.

However, I glanced at one of the comments and it came to my attention...

If the third party developer is making a game for literally EVERY platform, why cut out or botch the Wii U version? They're making five other versions of the game, three of which will be going to platforms with nearly 100 million users each (PC, 360, and PS3). It's not like they'd lose money on the Wii U version if they made a good game that sold well on the other consoles. And the Wii U version would be a happy little bonus to al that provided they made the game properly.

But no. I suppose it's easier to drop one version because the internet told them to.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

Business don't quite work like that. Just because they will make a profit from other consoles doesn't mean they are going to risk losing money on the Wii U version

@Ryno
If the game is a good-quality game, they won't have to worry about losing money on it. Rushing a game, delaying it repeatedly, and removing features is a sure fire way to diminish that quality.

well since they decided to waste money on a WiiU port they should as well make it on completely par with at least the PS360 versions

Okay, now after that good night's sleep I read the article now.

I really hope this isn't a hoax, not only because I admire seeing this type spunk being shown from a team fresh out the womb but also North Carolina has gotta represent! Oh and hopefully that game is decent too.

Okay, I haven't heard anyone say "I'm happy now!" or "You didn't make me happy!" in this thread yet. So… Is anyone happy yet?

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

GuSolarFlare

@Gravy I'll only be happy if AE games keeps the attitude and delivers what was promissed(in a dramatic struggle with blasts and destruction xD)

There's been a company called AE Mobile that has been spitting out Windows Phone games for years. Despite being available on android and iOS today, back in the day they were about all us early WP7 adopters had. Not sure if this is the same company or not. (The websites would lead me to believe they are not: ae-mobile.com and aegames.net) The latter, as mentioned in this article, look more like a website that a middle schooler slapped together one morning for a class project.

If it is associated with AE Mobile, I'm not so sure that's a good thing anyway. Their entire business plan was to jump on a platform that was being underdeveloped for (in this example, the Windows Phone) and pump out shovelware that utilized other's IP. They are known for games like AE Fruit Slash, AE Bubble, AE Jewels, AE City Jump... The list goes on.

Even if these companies are unrelated, it seems that AE Games is jumping on the same business plan as AE Mobile. Pick a platform with little 3rd party competition for software and try and make a name for yourself.

Guys, here's the developers' website:

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

I think people are missing the tactic that Nintendo is employing, which I personally understand and approve of: let Sony/MS have their third parties, we'll focus on 1st party/indie games instead.

It makes sense: Nintendo doesn't want to pour money into playing the "dating game" with 3rd parties, so instead fhey're massively supporting and constantly bringing in more indie devs! This is not a bad plan, as the best place for indie games has been Steam on PC, but if the Wii U can draw in even a fraction of the levels of indie games/support found on Steam, then Nintendo has intelligently grabbed a new part of the market.

Sony/MS like to stick with big budget games, and though they do have indie games on their systems, I can already feel from experience that the eShop and indies are growing faster than indies on the XBox1/PS4 systems. This tactic is not really a bad idea, if you think about it...

I wish I could find sales numbers for indie's on the eShop vs. other services.

100% agreed and well said. I always find it weird that Nintendo never "pay" the devs so that they can have a piece of the cake. After reading your post it literally gave me a slap on the back of my head.

Time will tell if Nintendo make the right decision. So far Trine 2 is awesome and it would be nice if more quality indie games comes to the Wii U.

Back to topic, I will only be happy when Monolith X and SMB are finally released. Other than that I will always stay sad.
