So yeah a year ago there was a little tech demo of Zelda which looked absolutely incredible better than any current gen graphics period.
So what happened to those graphics and why did the Wii U suddenly become just the same as 360 and PS3's graphics

1. No it wasn't. Not that I saw.
2. Even I'm wrong with 1, it's because it was a demo and not a game really. Not even gameplay IIRC.
3. It just looked like HD Twilight Princess. Far from a bad thing but...eh...

First of all, it was pre-rendered, like a cut scene, instead of being rendered in real time like most gameplay. Pre-rendered graphics are always way better than real time rendering. It wasn't a playable demo, it was just essentially video footage. Second, those sort of "tech demos" have a lot of time and effort put into them than it is generally capable to invest into a full length game by launch. We will see more impressive graphics as the time goes on.

Pre rendered or not, it still gave me a Staff of Gamelon ;)

A demo, WHERE? Is there any videos?

Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 3, Zelda Twilight Princess, & Metroid Other M
Hyped for: Sonic Lost World, Super Smash Bros 3DS, & Dream Team

Even though I have beaten many of the games I'm still playing, I play them not to win, but to have fun.

Of course it's prerendered. You can easily tell that none of those erratic motions done by the guy holding the game pad there has any influence on what is actually happening on the TV screen.

There's a difference between a pre-rendered video, and a real-time cutscene. Both don't get much interaction from the user, but the latter is actually using the hardware as a game normally would. It is in the same line as the MGS:Naked Sample demo done on the 3DS.

Well, Nintendo has emphasized quite a few times right now that they are working on a Zelda title and this demo may not reflect what that title looks like.

Nintendo has seemed to insist upon doing exactly what we don't expect or even consider. Watch them release a Wind Waker styled Celda adventure, completely ignoring the HD beauty they could've done. (No, I doubt they'd go that route again, but I won't be surprised if they do something pretty unexpected.

ports aren't going to ever be much better than the system that said game was developed for its pretty much impossible especially when the Wii u uses a completely different way of processing that being the gpgpu (parallel processing) this way the CPU doesn't have to work nearly as hard and leaves room for other things ported games are build for the 360 ps3 which is completely different

WindWaker would look gorgeous in HD. Even Skyward Sword art. Realistic HD graphics are boring, ninty does better stuff with Zelda >:[

Source? I saw that listed as a rumor but I definitely didn't see any official announcement on this.

Whoa, calm down dude. I do love Wind Waker, and Skyward Sword was my favorite Zelda game yet (both gameplay and art). I was saying they have a tendency to do what the public doesn't expect and it does create controversy. I never said I thought it was bad, I simply said they'll probably do something we don't expect with the series. I wouldn't be a Zelda fanboy if I thought that was bad.

It certainly wasn't pre-rendered. The lighting, camera angles and camera motions were confirmed to be fully interactive - that's not something that can be tampered with in a pre-rendered cutscene.

Let us not judge a man by the colour of his skin, but by the character he chooses to battle with in Brawl.

It's a tech-demo. There is a difference between a demo and tech-demo. A demo is a playable game that meant to show what you can do in the game and what it's like. A tech-demo is used to show off what the platform is capable of.

No, it's not pre-rendered. You cannot change the lighting or camera angles in real time in a pre-rendered cutscene. A pre-rendered cutscene is basically a recorded video on the disk that runs when the game tells it to. It's not possible to change what happens in a video in real time.
