Alph was almost turned into an actual character, like Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina.

...Well this sucks! I would've loved an Alph amiibo!...Then again, he'd probably be impossible to find, so maybe this is a good thing.

Sounds like Alph would've been like Lucina, in the sense of "same attacks, different damage output" if he were to just use Rock Pikmin. The thought of a powerhouse character being a Pikmin rep is funny to me but people would no doubt just complain anyway if Alph was a separate character.

@TheGreatLord: The most obvious reason is that she's been supporting Nintendo for over a decade since her debut on GameBoy. She's also got great games, would be a unique character, and has the full support of her developers to be added to the game. And no, I wouldn't really consider her an Indie character. WayForward was around before Indie really became a thing. Also, WayForward has a great track record with Nintendo. Also bootie wiggle:

(I couldn't find a good video of it, but essentially whenever she crouches down, she has one of the most adorable animations and everyone wants to see it in Smash for... reasons.)

Shantae is definitely one of the characters I want to see in Smash. She's one of the first indie characters (WayForward calls her indie, so yeah, she's indie), is a cult classic, has tons of moveset potential, and has perhaps the greatest standing animation (and crouching animation) of all time.

Shantae's just an awesome character, I love her design and moveset potential, plus she has a lot of funny dialogue.

I think her and Shovel Knight are some of my biggest requests, but I would at least hope that if CommanderVideo can get a Trophy, those two should get one too.

About the girls characters in smash, there are way more villians that are possible to be added than girls characters. There are more villians with ACTUAL potential than girls characters. Plus we are talking about heroes and villians not guys and girls because who really cares if the character is a guy or a girl? There are many villians I can name that can be added to smash bros rather than girls. Dixie Kong would be like Diddy and Daisy will be like Peach. There's not many characters that are girls that can be added but rather that are villians. There are quite a few villians (but nobody would vote for most of them) that could be in the game rather than girls with new moveset potential.

-Medusa (Kid Icarus) oh look a girl and a villian what do you know...
-Wolf (Star Fox) who cares if he was in smash bros he needs to be in the game
-Blood Falcon (F-Zero) can take ganondorf's moves and make ganon not a "clone" since that bothers people so much apparently
-Black Shadow (F-Zero)
Dr. Eggman (Sonic) ok seriously if he was added do you know how cool his moves would be?

Also two things about Shantae, she doesn't need representation. Literally no one knows about her. I was a crazy nintendo fan since I was like 5 years old and NEVER heard of her until smash bros ballot. Second she has never been released in Japan (?) ans Nintendo is a Japanese company. Plus King K Rool has been around with Nintendo than Shantae MUCH longer (8 years), he came the same time as Diddy Kong did! So I don't see why Shantae deserves to be in the game still... K Rool is known to many more than Shantae is. Plus a costume DOES NOT mean the character has no chance to make it into the game. If that was the case then why are Link, Samus, Meta Knight, Mega Man or even Captain Falcon (there's a falcon mask) in the game?

Shantae probably does not have enough supporters anyways

Where did I say that? I said I don't see many girls with potential but I see many more villians with potential. If I didn't want girls then why did I mention Medusa lol

@TheGreatLord: Dixie and Daisy could potentially play a lot differently from Diddy and Peach but anyway... I can't help but feel that your comment can be seen as slight offensive when read out of context. Why do you judge Shantae off of her gender?
