@IceClimbers While I agree that we're way past the point of trying to pass this off as a hoax, don't say that there's no chance, because Project M and Smashify disagree whole-heartedly.
Theres nothing to think of a hoax right now.

Theres also no known method to edit most format files Wii U games used, so making custom characters for smash wii u is out the question.

Nintendo goofed out and rolled the update in Japan earlier, and then they removed the need for update.
You missed my point entirely. It's not relevant now that it's not only confirmed, but actually in the game, but if it can be made officially, it can be faked, too. Trust that nothing is 100% anything.
For the record, I've trusted this "leak" since the initial ROM dump and I'm excited to give Ryu a try. I'm just saying that nothing is ever 100% until word of God says it is. (And WoG has, in fact, confirmed this.)
Despite all the leaked info, this was still a great direct and had a few nice surprises left in there, like amiibos and more incoming N64 stages, and of course the fact that we can get everything new today (once the servers clear up).
I'm getting more excited for Roy now too, his redesign looks good and though he's a clone it looks like he'll have a fresh spin on his old Melee moveset. Excited to give all these fighters a spin!

I've got the same issue as you, tried it twice but I've given up for now. I'll wait til tomorrow I think now.

Why is everyone calling Sakurai lazy for not having a special Palutena Guidence for Lucas, Roy, and Ryu? The voice actors are probably busy and he isn't in charge of the English voice acting.
