So twice now my machine has frozen after sending a message to a friend! Both times had to unplug it. It's not just games that freeze. Anyone else had this? Needless to say my Wii U is banned from going online until Nintendo sort this fiasco out.

My only freeze so far was one time when I pressed the HOME button to return to my game (Assassin's Creed) while it was connected to the online service.

Its definitely online related. From everything I've read and from personal experience it can't be anything but. Does anyone know anymore info on when this patch is coming to solve this?

I'm sure Nintendo will be aware of the issue and working on it, but when it'll be fixed is anyone's guess at this point I'd say.

Ok Ben , in the meantime il be keeping it offline. It can't be good unplugging it when this happens. Il keep my eye on the forums to see when this patch is available

Personally, I'm gonna just take my chances and hope I don't come across the freezing issue too much (only once so far, right after returning from the HOME menu, afterall).

I love it when a plan comes together! Be interesting to hear though , if anyone has had this issue when sending a message....

All I can say is you must have a lemony dud system because mine hasn't even frozen and I'm online everytime the WiiU is turned on and play hours of BLOPS and back an forth from the internet browser and Miiverse. My Wii is still the same launch system and that has not failed me either. It all comes down to plain good luck energy... I obviously have alot more of it than you blokes

It hasn't frozen once for me either. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I've only had mine freeze once. First time I loaded Nintendo Land, after the updates, I decided to play DK Crash Course and it crashed after showing where Pauline was. Then I installed the update again and it hasn't happened since. Not once. Haven't had it crash in any menus or any games. Nothing.

I'm not sure what I did to fix it but... installing the update again seemed to solve it...

I have had Miiverse freeze on me after posting a message, browsing the communities, and starting up. Not at the same time but has frozen quite a few times.

I doubt its a 'dud' ! Ive played hours and hours without a hitch , been on miiverse without a hitch , played games while online without a hitch , and i dont even get a peep out of it while its loading from discs. Its this one little issue after tapping ok on the pad to send a message. And then its only done it twice in five days. So i doubt its a dud! Be more constructive or dont bother!

Hopefully tomorrow's Nintendo Direct may have some details on an upcoming patch. There are still quite a few problems going around, it seems.

I wish you good luck guys, I just know from the launch of the 360 that things like this just can happen. There are so many factors on the front- and on the serverend of such things. Im sure that you guys will get some sort of update/hotfix in the next days. I even suspect it's the secret reasoning why Japan gets Wii U last... to have a test run in NA and EU to be able to provide best service since day 1 in their home country!

I cant see nintendo doing that but u never know....

lol nah, they just released it early here because of the holiday sales and whatnot. xD
Anyways I'm not really messing with my Wii U right now until they get the update out. (besides playing Little Inferno, since that game works fine)

@Erica : yeah it seems to be ok just playing games offline , that said , ive played games while connected and have not had an issue. Its just the messages in miiverse ive had issue with

I haven't got any freeze-up as of yet. I've had the Wii U since the european launch.

I was playing Nintendo Land one day, and had to unplug the Wii U 4 times after 4 freezes.

I hope they get this sorted out soon.
