I have to agree. Nothing compares to playing the classics in their original form.
Except when your Cart dies, I can back up my DL title, but I'd have to rebuy my physical title

Never have had one die or any other problem with any of my 100 or so carts or "Game Paks" as they used to call them. I suppose I could change the battery but the Legend of Zelda gold cart still saves from the 80's!
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.

A Virtual console, is better than no virtual console and it gives gamers who don't own any of the classic consoles a chance to experience a wide selection of games they never had the privilage to play. But I agree, nothing compares to playing these games on the original systems.
But it's still awesome to have considering some carts are quite expensive....Then again, that rarely ever stops me from making the purchase. Mega Man 7 on Cart goes for around $100. Whenever it's released on the VC, it will be $8. Plus you get to play it through a component connection, same deal with NES games and everything else which makes these games look better plain and simple.
It's just nice that it's there. so boo hoo.
What are you going to blow on with your VC?

Come on, you never had a problem with NES cartridges? I hated always trying to get those things to work, even back when they were new. The NES was a mess.
I prefer the VC.

I should have watched my wording with Gamesake around. After a couple of tries I get my NES games to work. Harmo was referring the to the carts dieing which I have never had that problem.

MEH. Nothing beats a physical copy. Having the actual cart, inserts, manual and box for an NES/SNES game is just too awesome.
DL just feels lacking, incomplete and empty.
Those games won't be on their servers forever, you know.
That's why having them tied to your system is a good thing

No, it isn't. If you lose your system or get it stolen, it's all gone. If your system crashes or your hard-drive dies, it's all gone. You need to spend hundreds of moola on your games all over again, or accept that it's all gone.
You need your purchases tied to your account, so if you ever need to replace your system, you can just log in to your Nintendo Network account and re-download them from whatever tab keeps track of your purchased games.

I am also in my 30's on the backside, however, and I do love the old systems. I revisit from time to time, but I imagine the Wii will be the golden age for my kids. I think it just comes with the times. As for the physical copy, I do love holding the box, disc, cartridge, or booklet in my hands. Again, that probably has something to do with age.
