Oh for sure! Too bad everything else doesn't 'HD resolution' aside. Hell, the character models & animations look identicle by the looks of things and there doesn't seem to be any crazy NextGen effects going on either. :p Nintendo could of done a lot more to impress, but they're clearly going for a super clean, minimal and basic approach....'again' The Next 3D Mario will be sure to Donatello-dazzle though! B-)

I don't know why you'd want to see "next-gen effects" in a Mario game especially a 2D one. I wouldn't want a 2D Mario to look any different,. Short of an entirely new style along the lines of Paper Mario or Yoshi's Island the look of New SMB is look is as good as it gets for 2D Mario as is IMO.

It looks good to me too, but I wouldn't say its the best a 2D Mario can get. There's always room for improvement.

I proply get this game along with Pikmin 3. The graphics in this game are amazing but it makes me wonder what the 3D Mario game for this console generation going to look like :D

For some reason, it just feels like this game is going to be like way, WAY better than NSBM2, i mean yoshi's that can become into balloons, baby yoshi's, etc. I mean is there any yoshis in NSMB2? I really liked yoshi in NSMBW, and to me, the WiiU version looks more beautiful than NSMB2. I will get NSMB2, but it seems like they put more work into the WiiU version

Well, there's anti-alialising, so there's that. Either way, most Mario games have been using the same 3D Mario model in the past years.

NSMBU is a sequel to NSMBW. NSMB2 is a sequel to NSMB1. Hence the numbering system. They are basically two different series.

I wouldn't call them two different series, the numbers and such really don't matter. Of what I've seen U doesn't really have much to do with Wii, neither does 2 to the original. Its more so, the original started on DS. The Wii game is like a spin-off. Then 2 on 3DS is the sequel to the original game, which are both handheld games. I don't know. They're all under the "New Super Mario Bros." brand, or series.

They're each progressing on their own, though, is what I'm getting at. I'm not saying they're sequels as far as stories go.

I actually thought NSMB was hella different from NSMBW. Design wise. I didn't like it much though but I hope I like NSMB2. I loved NSMBW.

Am I the only one who thinks, apart from U, the first NSMB game looks the best? 2 looks just nice and the Wii one looks too shiny, for me.

I'd like to say that I recommend my my Backloggery, but I haven't updated it in a long time!

I wonder if the kooplings are going to make an appeance? That would be cool.
Hopefully the make this one more challenging than NSMBW, that on was challenging but I want this one to be more challenging.

Yeah, nothing like having the Koopalings in yet another New Super Mario Bros. game. It would be so original!

My thoughts exactly. I'm annoyed that they had the audacity to put them in NSMB2. :|

Yeah he's right if the koopalings are in New Super Mario Bros. 2 then bosses like Petey Piranha or maybe King Boo should be NSMBU. Speaking of which they need to rename it New Super Mario World. I just can't stand that both titles are called New Super Mario Bros. If we give this one a different name and preferably unique bosses like on DS people will see how much different this game is and exactly what makes the console & handheld games two different series.

If anything, NSMB2 should be renamed World since U doesn't have nearly as much SMW elements. Especially if Petey Piranha is in it.

I doubt their going to bring anything "original" to a series based on a series :D

Actually, DS had the unique bosses and Bowser Jr. fights while Wii had the Koopalings, so NSMB2 should've had unique bosses while the Koopalings should be in NSMBU. Since it's not going to be that way, there's no telling if the Koopalings are going to be in NSMBU too or if there's even going to be new boss characters to fight.

Reznor should've been in this game because I think this game clearly has more of a SMW look to it than NSMB2. That game is more of a mash-up of SMB3 and World. Then again, the NSMB games are basically a mash-up of all of the 2D Mario elements. Even picking up objects from SMB2 is in NSMBW while the red coins come from Yoshi's Island.

That's what I'm thinking. If you're going to do a sequel to New Super Mario Bros. by putting a 2 in the title, at least show some continuity from the original game. NSMB2 has NSMBW music, and koopalings. So far that's more of a sequel to the Wii game, which should be what U is...

Uhh too confusing. :p
