I miss the frog suit. They should put in more power-ups that aren't extremely useful but are just goofy. I like trying to beat the flying ships with the frog suit.

I wonder if they'll finally put Kuribo's Shoe in. They've tried ever since Super Mario Galaxy but someone usually rejects it or there's time constraints.

I'm just really happy about the flying squirrel suit. I want more quirky animal suits. How about a platypus suit to aid in swimming?

I'm not exactly hating 'hating' as the Propeller suit itself provided a teensy weensy bit of fun(At east when pressing down to do the drill spin when coming down to the ground)....But i think it's safe to say that this was possibly the lamest Mario power up in the series 'design wise'. It just wasn't that interesting. The Squirrel suit is farrr more interesting and creative. Even more interesting than what's under April O'neil's outlandish tightly fit banana coat jump suit.

Mario 'animal' based power ups always please the fans.

I don't know about always just animal suits. The Hammer Bros suit in 3D Land was pretty good and so was Cloud Mario in Galaxy 2. Hell, Ice Mario was probably the best suit in Super Mario Galaxy and was definitely better than Bee Mario. Propeller Mario wasn't a horrible suit but even if it was let's not to too far and say that the Animal Suits are always the best ones.

Oh, and Spring Mario was orders of magnitude worse than propeller Mario. If there was a vs play mode like the one in New SMB on the DS the Spring Mario suit would be the only powerup I would avoid.

A launch title? This is good news! Makes me a lot more happy about this!

The Propeller Suit was ok. I wouldn't say it's the lamest power up ever of all time.....

Now, the Blue Shell power up from New Super Mario Bros. had a far worse design then the Propeller Suit...... and the blue shell power up is a "animal power up"

I agree with Waveboy the Propeller suit was just laaaaaaame. I mean come one did the guys who come up with the suit designs go on strike that week? I mean heck even Balloon Mario in SMW was alot better than the propeller suit.

I do like the Blue Shell as a Powerup though. That thing is a BEAST in VS!

It's great in versus and just plain fun in single-player, useful or not.

Yeah that's what I thought it is basically the exact same thing. You shake the Gamepad/Wii Mote to jump high in the air and then you glide down pretty much exactly like the Propellor suit.

It's just 'one' power up, obviously not a dreal breaker. And Tasuki Balloon mario kicks Propeller mario to the curb! A chunky bloated blimped up floating mario is far more appealing imo than mario in some lame red looking track suit with a race car propeller helmet.. Worst Mario Power up suit design easily. And Skywake Cloud Mario looks awesome, i haven't gotten around to playing my copy of Galaxy 2 yet but based on what I've seen the power up looks like loads of fun to use. And yess, Ice Mario was easily the best Suit in Galaxy.

I doubt this game would do it, but I always thought it would be cool if one of the players could play as Yoshi. And then another player could ride on top of him. Sort of like in Donkey Kong Country Returns. What would be even cooler is if while playing as Yoshi, you could turn enemies into eggs an throw them. That would be some asymmetric gameplay. That would be Yoshi's ability to make up for the fact that he can't use powerups.
Also, bring in Wario and Waluigi and add in a team based mode similar to the original Donkey Kong Country games where two players play at a time, four players total. Each team taking turns after each other, similar to Super Mario Bros. 3. If two GamePads were an option, you could have a total of six players, three on each team. Or maybe even have one team play on the gamepads so they can simultaneously play different levels, each working towards the end of the game.
And bring back character stats, like in Super Mario Bros. 2/USA. Then when you play as your Mii, it will have its own stats just like in Mario Kart Wii.
Sheesh, so many ideas and yet Nintendo just sticks to the same formula. Even Super Mario Bros. 1, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World were much more different from each other than each New Super Mario Bros. game.

Propeller suit was okay. Squirrel Suit looks like more fun, more similar to the carrot from SML2 by the looks of it.

I LOVE the backgrounds in this one. The great looking acorn trees (with eyes), the mountains, and the painting backgrounds look miles ahead of anything I've seen in NSMBWii.

Good thing this game is inspired by Donkey Kong Country Returns, and that explains the gorgeous backgrounds. DKCR is notable for its spectacular scenery, so I'm sure NSMBU will have plenty of its own.
