Well, maybe the prizes are slightly different. Like that the green ring has different rewards in every level while the red one has the same rewards everywhere. Or the green ring and red ring give you different items if small or super Mario.
The review for it just came out on IGN! You can read it here.
EDIT: Hm, got a 9.1 from IGN, complaining about the audio and visuals. TBH, from what I've seen, I'm fine with those. So it looks like it'd be a near-if-not-perfect 10/10 for me.
Still can't wait for the NL review, but I'm still getting this anyway.

I feel the same way. From what I've seen, the game looks amazing. Sadly, I'm going to have to wait for Christmas to play it.
online games include: Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart 7, Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon.

It's going to be a tough desicion for me on Christmas, either this or NLand. I'll probably go with NLand for 2 reasons.
1) To teach me to use the controls and play with my family.
2) All afternoon I'll be playng NSMBU by myself.
It really doesn't look all that innovative; look at the 2D platforming goodness in Super Mario Galaxy. I'd love a game based on that.
I'm sure it's still fun and I'll pick it up when the price comes down a bit, but why must the New series move forward so slowly compared to the 3D Mario entries? They should be masters of the genre, pushing the boundaries like so many indie games are doing now. Instead Nintendo are sticking with solid level design and a new power-up or two.
That being said, Challenge Mode is very welcome indeed.
I'm glad Nintendo incorporated a challenge mode. It's something the 2D games sorely needed. Now I'll probably end up getting this when I eventually get a WiiU.
Best thread ever
