So what do you guys think about this? For those of you who do not know, Frontier is currently a Japanese only game for the PC (and 360)...for various reasons it never got localized. And now a G version of the game is being released for the PS3 AND Wii U...
I would still say chances are slim, but I was thinking maybe Nintendo might actually help bring the game over here. When you think about it they did support the other Monster Hunter games in some way, handling Tri's servers as well as Ultimate's I think. So maybe they'll work something out with Frontier G.
Dunno about Sony though, from what I could tell with Portable 3rd HD...they just don't care for the series much. And both Sony and Capcom had conflicts and never end up getting the game localized.
Then 3G came along for the 3DS and at this point people were thinking the series is done for in the west, I was against this at first but then I eventually gave in and started believing we'd never get 3G. Then BAM, Reggie throws 3G's localized name in our faces in a Direct a month or so before Wii U's launch date, Ultimate, lol. Really, came out of nowhere...my whole body was freaking out and getting all shaky and sweaty. xD
Now we have MH4 and this game...I already think MH4 is a given, but I'm not so sure with Frontier G. But I figured I would make a thread here about it and pretty much remind people on what Nintendo did with the other Monster Hunter games on their systems. Not saying there's a good chance it'll be localized, but I think the chances do increase slightly. (hopefully Capcom and Sony will work something out for the PS3's version too, if it does happen anyways)
P.S: Can someone remind me how to post the video here...other forums I go to simply have that "Insert Media" option and it takes care of the rest, lol
Looks pretty awesome. I've been playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate since launch on both 3DS and WiiU — mostly online, so something like this would be pretty rad. It would work out well on Vita also, with Vita's 3G subscription.
While i would like them to, i doubt they will. Frontier is essentially the MMO Monster Hunter for lack of a better term and i guess they figure for an american or europe market it wouldnt translate to well, not to mention frontier is old. I suspect the next Monster Hunter we will see is 4*Insert something else* .
I would love to see a Monster Hunter that functions like Phantasy Star in terms of lobbies and such , and actually adds downloadable content. You buy one Monster Hunter and they simply release new weapons , tiers, and new monsters.
