Topic: I wish Nintendo would add these features to the Wii U..

Make the WiiU independent of the Gamepad:
-Update System Menu, eShop, Youtube, Netflix etc to work 100% with the Pro Controller/GC adapter. Make the WiiU region-free.

-Add a System Settings option to disable background music and add an alternativ darker color theme.

Make Wii games work without motion control:
-Update Wii mode to boot Wii games directly from Wii U OS, add support for the Gamepad (show content on both TV and Gamepad), Controller Pro U and GC adapter.

-Update Wii mode to add a Dolphin-emulator'esque wiimote emulation through remapping, makros and game-spesific configurations that lets you play Wii games with the Gamepad/Wii U Pro Controller/GC Adapter (optional for analaog sticks).

-Update all Wii major IP titles like Mario, Zelda and Metroid to also support the Gamepad, Controller Pro and GC adapter natively.

Improve backwards compabilty further:
-Add GC games to eShop with widescreen support.

-Add 1080p upscaling with anti-aliasing for Wii/GC/VC games using remaining the remaining CPU/GPU.

-Add Pro U Controller support for more WiiU games.

In case of a WiiU hardware revision update:
-128gb NAND, black matte color, ethernet port, internal PSU, bundle with Pro Controller only at a cheaper price.

TLDR: Update Wii U to use ONE controller, streamline the WiiU OS, backwards compabiltiy and hardware

Why? Cause among poor marketing and timing I believe these are among the reasons the Wii U falied in the first place, gimicks, inconsistent controls and convoluted operation.

Just had to vent some. I love playing games like Metroid Prime Triology etc, I just hate the Wiimote and how the console works in general. So many awesome games and so much wasted potential due to gimicks and sloppy implementation.

Don't forget a phase plasma rifle with a 40 kilowatt range.

Maybe you're playing the wrong console.

With all due respect, this is exactly the same mentality Nintendo shares and probably also the reason for the company to fall behind Sony and MS.

The Wii U has some of my favourite IPs like Metroid and Zelda and they would probably go further if they diden'¨t exclude anyone not into gimmicky controllers. Half the fun with Nintendo is also their legacy games hence the wish for GC titles in the eShop as the original GC dont have HDMI. They need to stop alienating their customer base.

Decent online would be nice! Really frustrating that you have no notifications of miiverse messages, lobbies that mix friends and randommers, etc. I could go on.

You'd be better off joining the 'Nintendo games on Xbox/PlayStation' brigade, it's a much simpler pipe-dream than the one you have made up there. It's got as much chance of happening though, close to 0.

I think any major improves to the Wii U now isn't going to happen. Why spilt their development team between the Wii U and the NX? The Wii U was a failure and now the smartest thing for Nintendo to do is learn from their mistakes and not repeat them with the NX.

Allready have an Xbox One and I love it, but there is something special about Nintendo, NES was my first console etc. The difference between Nintendo and Sony/MS is that the latter understands better what their customers want while Nintendo is kinda akward and ends up pushing many of their core fans away.

It sadens me to see why nintendo is falling behind and I think I know why. I dont think it's just about being underpowered and bad timing. It's something more fundamental. That's why I wrote what I did.

Then you look at the Nintendo 64 and Game Cube and wonder what their customers want...

So you want Nintendo games on other systems? Because that is what your wish list amounts to.

@Djent but why does this 'sadden' you? Were you sad too during the GameCube era when the PS2 dominated? Were you sad (because it sounds like you were) when the Wii was the 'winner' last gen, because it was 'gimmicky' and 'alienating'? Because if so on both counts, then you haven't been happy with Nintendo for well over a decade. If these issues sadden you that much, then maybe just move on, it sounds like that's something you should have done even as far back as the PS1 if all you're concerned about is 'gimmicks' and sales.
