Yeah, I read an article in a gameinformer back when this was for sure not going to be on the Wii U, that the developers absolutely hated the Wii U's Hardware with a passion and they couldn't get anything to work.

In all honest, I think their comment about the Wii U's CPU being "horribly slow" was because they couldn't do a simple port. THQ is in a financial crisis, and they can't allocate any resources to learning a new platform.

"Thrive"?

There's a couple of million Wii Us worldwide. No game is going to thrive.

Especially when a company desperately needs a megahit like THQ, it lacks the resources to support tiny install bases.

Azooooz

Developers these days are counting on porting instead of doing it from the start, thus making the game worse.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

If I was a developer, I'd take a wait-and-see approach.

It's the only logical way to approach this kind of thing. Why invest the money in a port if it's not going to pay off?

Forgetting the fact that:

a. The Wii U is a console with an extremely small install base compared to the PS3/Xbox 360, which would lead to a major waste of resources for third-party developers at this moment.

b. The Wii U is a console with a significantly different architecture to other consoles, hence making it rather difficult for multi-platform games to efficiently utilise its proficiencies this early. Developers need time to abandon the whole "copy and paste" method, and learn to use the Wii U properly.

c. THQ is in a dire financial crisis, and they cannot afford to take risks without guarantee that they'll be adequately compensated on it. Refer to point a.

All good points. I think it's smart they are not releasing it on the wii U. I certainly wouldn't be buying a poor performing version of a good pc game with striped down graphics.

It's something like this x4-5:

We're talking a million if it's as big as Zombi U and I doubt it's that big. Maybe 300k if it's closer to Assassin's Creed 3 in terms of popularity on the Wii U. They could live with that but I doubt it'd be that big... and I doubt it's the sort of game people will still want to buy at the end of the year either. So the timing is wrong for that sort of game, too late for launch buzz too early for a decent install base.

..... but they could have still done it. It's not a technical reason and it's not that it would be insta doomed, it's all about them not wanting to take the risk.

That list only shows retail purchases

I doubt it makes much of a difference. The eShop is hardly steam, it's not like you can get lower prices there than at retail
