You wouldn't believe how many anti-nintendo comments flood Ign's youtube page. They claim wii U is not next gen due to it's graphics.
Um... Graphics don't make games... IT'S THE GAMEPLAY. In other words, Wii U gamepad.
Last gen? How does one get better graphics than 1080p? I'm betting PS4 and the 720 will have the same graphics.
Resolution doesn't equal graphical capability, or at least not the majority of it. Look at the Square Enix E3 demo or the Unreal 4 engine demo for next-gen. That's what people are talking about when it comes to next gen in terms of graphics.
In terms of next-gen as a whole, I've always thought of it by time, not capability. It just so happens most generations of games have similar graphics in terms of capabilities, with the latest gen the one to break that trend with the Wii.

No, it is next gen because it is nintendo's next main home console, released after their 7th generation console. Has nothing to do with playing console games in your hand or whatever. Vita can do that anyway.

No, it's next-gen because it came out significantly later than the other consoles. Generation is a term used for a certain period of time, no?

Next-gen consoles can be defined as systems that have been distinctly introduced as successors to their significant predecessors after an acceptable period of time. Graphics and gameplay have little influence on their reception as next-gen consoles.
If they were saying positive things about the game I'd get you guys would care what IGN was saying.
Have any of you read the article? It's very positive, this game got absolutely panned when it was released for Xbox and PS3.
