They really should make a sequel for Wii U or 3DS! But they should make it focused on the City Trial mode. With more maps, events, and stadiums, it would be awesome! They should also add online multiplayer, and more singleplayer stuff too, like a mission mode. Kirby Air Ride is one of my favorite games ever, and my siblings and I still love playing together just as much as we always have! What do you think?

Oh! They should also improve the computer AI. The AI in the original, at least in City Trial, is really bad. Computers will break a box, four top speeds will pop out, and then they will drive away.

It's no Mario Kart, that's for sure. I spent my time unlocking EVERY SINGLE CHECKBOX in the game from like 2003 until 2010 (I didn't play 7 years straight of course!) and honestly I don't think I'm ever going to touch it again after all the pain I went through to do that, lol

Yeah, I can understand why some people wouldn't like KAR, and that's if you have only played single player. I admit that playing by yourself isn't super fun, but playing multiplayer on City Trial is one of the greatest things ever! Maybe they shouldn't make a sequel to KAR, but instead a new game that plays just like City Trial! In fact, that's all I really want!
YES! this or a 3D kirby game(I can't imagine a kirby game being REALLY bad, maybe except epic yarn. I didn't like that one) but they'd have to make the city trial the main game and with a HUGE map or many smaller ones so it could stay interesting for more time and the racing part wasn't so much fun I only liked the city trial that thing was madness(and really interesting).

I would love for there to be a sequel to Kirby Air Ride! That game has provided some of the best multiplayer moments I've ever had with my friends. I can only hope they improve the controls. I understand what they were going for with the whole "one button controls everything" idea to makes things simple, but it made the game feel clunky at times. If they make a sequel I'd like to see a separate button for sucking/attacking as well as the basic spinning attack.
Ideally I'd like to see it set up something like this:
Y: Attack
B: Brake/Charge Boost
L/R: Lean Left/Lean Right
L+R: Spin Attack
