CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II ON WII U

  • HD Experience: The title features the most advanced textures, lighting and shadowing systems in series history, all of which are on full display on Wii U.
  • Second-Screen Gameplay: Utilizing Wii U’s second-screen experience with the Wii U GamePad™, Call of Duty: Black Ops II players can join the action in a full Call of Duty experience from the second-screen. Plus, with the state of the art Wii Touchscreen, gamers can view multiplayer maps, call in score streaks and choose loadouts.
  • Expanded Functionality: Players have the option of using Wii U’s split-screen functionality to use both the GamePad™ and the Wii U Pro controller. Wii U also supports up to four controllers, including the Nintendo Wii Remote™ and Nunchuck.
  • Controller Choices: Use the GamePad touch screen to customize controls in real-time, or switch at any time to use another controller of your choice, including:
    o Wii Remote
    o Classic Controller Pro
    o Game Pad
    o WiiU Pro Controller

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II MULTIPLAYER

  • All-New Create-A-Class: Create-a-class has been re-imagined, introducing players to a new “pick-10” allocation system, allowing an unprecedented number of combinations of create-a-class content. Players no longer have to take content from each category; instead, trade items from one category for extra items in another – any combination of 10 items makes almost anything possible.
  • New Score Streaks: Score Streaks reward players for helping their team win the game: capturing flags, defending your teammate with an assault shield, getting kills and assists are all examples of actions that help your team win and thus give you score. Each action has a different value and can influence the theater of operations.
  • eSports on Wii U via League Play: Competition is fun at any level, which is why Treyarch has introduced League Play, offering skill-based matchmaking and seasonal ladders. Play a small number of matches to get your skill rating, and from there, you’ll be placed into a division with players of similar skill. Keep winning and you’ll move up in rank – steady progress will move you up the ladder and into upper divisions. Skill-based matchmaking ensures that you are challenged but not out-gunned. League play is for everyone. Additionally, CODcasting is part of the mix, allowing fans to commentate their favorite games.
  • Upgraded Weapons, Attachments and Equipment: Near-future warfare means upgrades in technology that soldiers will use in the field. Additionally, weapon perks are now built into the attachments.
  • More Multiplayer: Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Wii U includes Challenges, Core & Party Game Modes, Custom Games, Combat Training, Theater Enhancements, Emblem Editor and Prestiging.

My brother will probably get this on 360 so...yeah.

Honestly, just because it's adding new gameplay elements and getting a decent writer, I'm kinda interested in it. Not that interested since MW2 pretty ruined my opinion of the entire series, but at least more interested than I was expected.

I will be getting it on ps3 since I won't be getting a wii u anytime soon and that I pre ordered the it on ps3 (my first pre order and hope I can get the harden edition), and wii u owners should be able to get DLC so everyone wins.

The day when most people get active is the day zombies roam...but there should be a thousand ways to kill them to make life more easy, but if you become one...expect a serious case of the munchies.

I'll be getting it on Wii U. I don't know when, but I know it will be after I get Zombi U.

This is the number one game I want for the Wii U out of all the games in the Wii U's launch window. ZombiU looks good, but I'd rather have this first.

The only thing that I think is interesting about this game on the Wii U is with the way you can have one person playing on the GamePad and another on the TV. I don't care for this sort of game much but that idea is pretty interesting. Makes me wonder how many local multiplayer games will allow five players instead of four.

COD with the zapper on the Wii was good fun. So pleased that I can play Ops 2 the same way. I reckon this will be first disc I play...

And this snippet from a product description excites me greatly

CoD 1-5 were pretty good, but anything after that was just a copy and paste project with a new UI and 1-2 new guns. I ditched the whole series after 4, but I might jump back on if this doesn't dissapoint.

If I were to get this it would be the Wii U version.

I just want to know how they plan to balance all the different control methods.

COD 5 is my favourite of all time. I do want a shooter to play on the Wii u, so I'll rent BO2 from gamefly — if I like it I'll keep it. :)

It's simple. If you have the GamePad, you're going to just WIN all the time because you've got the best access to everything at your fingertips. If you have the WiiRemote/Nunchuck option, you will WIN (even against GamePad users) because of your more accurate control. If you've got the Pro Controller, you better become a pro at the game or else you'll be licking your pride off the pavement.

How does the gamepad change anything. If anything it would be worst of the three as its pretty much the pro Controller with more akward button placement.

We don't know exactly how the touchscreen will be fully implemented. It could prove to be a very useful mini-map when playing online. And the buttons probably aren't that awkwardly placed. We haven't had a real hands-on yet, so we don't know. It could even be more comfortable than the 360---I'm sorry, I couldn't finish that with a straight face... But it could be pretty comfortable for all we know.

@Sony_70 Isn't the button placement identical? Except for the plus and minus buttons.

The buttons are pushed farther away due to the touchscreen. And they already said the touch screen only adds a map and the ability to use it to. Change loadouts. Even if the touch screen did anything else the fast. Gameplay style would render it mostly mute anyway.

I think it's great that the Wii U is getting Black Ops II, but most people(like myself) will be getting it on 360 or PS3. Why? Because all my friends have the 360 and they all won't instantly go out and buy a Wii U with me. I would love it if they did, but they won't. Hopefully next year I will be able to get most of my friends to invest into a Wii U.

The reason why I think CoD on the Wii U is so cool is because you can take the tablet controller upstairs in bed and play with HD headphones so no one hears your game. No longer will I be yelled at to stop playing games and go up to bed haha
