I've heard some suggest an idea that the 3DS version could have special upgrading systems to build up your character (similar to stickers in Brawl's SSE) and you can transfer said tricked out character to the Wii U version. But other then that, what other possibilities can you think of?

Could be similar to what Ultimate is doing ...dunno how exactly the games will be different exactly though.
Maybe the 3DS version will have a single player mode with RPG-like features with leveling up characters, and transfer them to the Wii U, or something. (also, cross-play like with what Ultimate is doing, lol.)

I think it will be similar to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Yup. 3DS is offline, Wii U is online.
That will work wonders for Nintendo.

I think right now the only way I'd get Super Smash Bros for the 3DS is if that's the version my friends have, it's different enough to be considered a separate game, or it comes out first by at least a couple of months.
That said, you'll probably be able to use the 3DS as another WiiU gamepad.
