Topic: Animal Crossing U announcement ?

Is it happening ? I believe so, specially with the amiibo leak.

Yeah, the 3 new AC Amiibos are a very strong indicator. I really hope it happens myself. I know AC games work better on handhelds, but it would almost certainly have off-TV play and I just want to see AC in HD. New Leaf was a great game but if they can improve off that, a AC on Wii U would be amazing.

I know I wouldn't make toys just for 3DS shovelware that would only really have value as a companion app. We can only hope that ACU (he, he, he) looks as nice as the winter nighttime track in Mario Kart.

I think it's definitely happening, and did before the amiibo leak. It's appeared on every device they've made since going casual a decade ago, so I've expected it ever since they were done with New Leaf.

I never understood the whole "it's better on portables" thing anyway. The vast, vast majority of the time I'm playing my 3DS I'm at home so that was never an issue. On the other hand the appeal of Animal Crossing is that you share a town, something which is less likely if you take your portable with you. So a console version always made more sense to me. The main draw-back used to be that you'd annoy everyone by taking over the TV for 15mins every afternoon but with the GamePad even that's gone now. So I reckon a Wii U version would be a definitive version based on that alone!

Doesn't hurt that we already have the Mario Kart 8 track which shows how good Animal Crossing on Wii U could look
