Nah, it's the Gamepad itself that's 3D enabled.

It requires glasses. They wouldn't be able to make the Gamepad Auto-Stereoscopic since you would need to move it around for certain games. I'm pretty sure it's all written in the article :)

Um, I think the writer of the article is adding two and two where they don't belong. If you look at the screens, it's "stereoscopy" isn't connected to whether it's being played on the Wii U gamepad or not.

I'm with @TOMBOY25 on this one, I'll wait for a conformation from Nintendo. It seems odd to me that Nintendo, and especially Ubisoft, wouldn't mention this. Plus, with the way 3D glasses work, what with using infrared connections with the TV, this shouldn't technically work.

EDIT: Also, the site that this is from isn't exactly one that I know would be credible. IGN, Gamespot, etc. actually have a reputation to keep up in terms of delivering news that are facts, and this seems an odd thing to omit from their side as well. Why wouldn't any major sites mention this?

Well, I know the original leak (linked in the article) the writer mentioned that a product manager at Ubisoft (home of the Assassin's Creed III development) told him about the 3D compatibility of the Gamepad. Seems pretty reliable, but I guess only Nintendo can "Officially" confirm it.

@moomoo

I have to agree. This would've been leaked early on/ recently by someone or by more legit sources and as for the tech, yeah Ima say nope. I can't see this happening

I for one wouldn't be a fan of this. I hate the 3D effect on 3DS.

Also, the info was gotten at a launch party for Assassin's Creed III in montreal. Don't know if IGN or Gamespot would go to something like that.

"The stereoscopy can be changed from Off, to Inficolor, to Side By Side or Top Bottom."

...... if it was a feature of the screen it wouldn't require these options it would just work. It really does sound like a set of options for enabling 3D for the TV in the various options TVs tend to support. The tinted option with the glasses will work on the GamePad but I wouldn't call that 3D.

Unless you can find a source other than your own website, ari_vederci, i'm afraid the only person convinced on this point is you.
