Just get the GameCube compilation "Sonic Gems Collection."
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Hmm... might get it on PSN, but I still have alot of games that I never touched yet. To those who played it, how would you rank this game compared to the other 2D sonics? I was interested in playing but never had the chance before.
On a side note, that intro really is the bomb. SONIC BOOM!!!
Aww... and I really want to play this one without having to hunt down a copy of Gems Collection
Btw, the American soundtrack will be missed. It had a lot of great songs on there that had a different feel than the Japanese version, including that infamous death music: [youtube:YM8qx-HdY5c]
The Japanese title track's name is actually "You can do anything", which is in fact better than Sonic Boom. I can't say I'm surprised the Wii isn't getting Sonic CD, but it still kind of a downer when even the iOS is getting it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to settle with the 360's awkward D-pad.
I'd prefer the Japan / Europe soundtrack myself - US is still good though.
The PAL version of Sonic Gems was not only locked at 50Hz, but had the American soundtrack on Sonic CD... Thats why I imported a Japanese copy of Gems, plus it also has the MD Bare Knuckle trilogy on the disc.
I guess since the Japanese Sonic CD is coming to NA via XBLA & PSN, I guess we can now rename the Japanese soundtrack the "PS360 soundtrack" and call the American soundtrack the "Wii soundtrack" since you can play the American Sonic CD on Wii via Sonic Gems Collection. :

I actually didn't really enjoy Sonic CD much. I was expecting something more like the Mega Drive games but it just seemed confusing so I didn't play it long.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
I might download this if and when I get some extra cash. I still have a working Genesis with the CD addon and a copy of this game. Besides the XBLA version having the Japanese soundtrack is there any other difference from the original Sega CD NA version and this?

Agreed. I had no idea how to progress through the levels. The whole time-warp mechanic wasn't explained very well. Plus the stage music was terrible.
