@Octane I'm asking if there is any other reason to keep a GC
For example im buying "Resident Evil 4" for GameCube today because it has a better rating than the Wii and PS2 versions of the game. Would I still be able to tell the difference (like the better rating still in affect) if I play it on my Wii rather than GC?
What is it that makes the game better on GC..the GC controls or just the fact that GameCube will play it better?
I'd use my Wii, but I wouldn't get rid of the GC. I bought one used for $10 just to have one in my closet. You wouldn't get squat for it anyways. Plus, as others mentioned, it's compatible with the GameBoy Player. And it will by far outlive your Wii.
GameCube was built like a tank.

Also, I would imagine the top loading pop-up disc drive on the Gamecube is much more reliable than the Wii's. The Wii's disc drive has more moving parts and thus is more susceptible to breaking. (It's just like how the model 2 SEGA CD is better than Model 1 because of the same reason....the top loading disc drive is more reliable in the long run).
this is exactly what i was gonna say.
well thats 3 sexy gamers opinions anyways, dont mind us we are stupid

The two things @bezerker99 said It might be unlikely but you definitely don't want your GameCube disc to get stuck in your Wii in the event of a failure.
I originally thought I would replace my GC with my Wii too, but then I realized there is actually little reason to keep a Wii when you have a Wii U. So, I've packed away the Wii instead and I have my GC and Wii U out. If you get the GameBoy Player you can play GBA games on the TV too, an alternative to Wii U's VC. (The GameBoy Player also works with Game Boy Color games I believe) That's at least how I prefer it.
And as @Meowpheel said, it makes quick work of burglars that would come to (not) steal your Wii U.
@Meowpheel that sucks, morph dude! 😰My Wii's Gamecube controller port 1 crapped out on me 6 years ago, rendering playing Gamecube games on it an impossibility.
Another vote for Game Boy Player as the sole reason I bought a GameCube (since my Wii was my first "GameCube").
(and a Japanese GC for Nintendo Puzzle Collection. Region-locking but I hear that is one game to use the BIOS font so it would have garbage text on non-Japanese consoles anyways. )
I'd never sell my Gamecube. It's a BEAST and probably my favourite console ever. I've the broadband adapter and the Gameboy Player both attached to it. It's a lovely piece of kit and I think it's aged well. You should keep it as it's a piece of gaming history and you likely wouldn't get much for it anyway.
Is it me or is the Gamecube controller the perfect evaluation of a Nintendo controller? It started out the NES, then that gave way to the SNES controller, then the N64 and finally the Gamecube was just perfect. After the the Nintendo controllers weren't as good.

theres an adapter that lets you use snes controllers for the gamecube, i love using it for gba games. playing mother 3 on gamecube with a snes controller gives it an authentic earthbound snes experience for sure
