Ever since I saw http://didyouknowgaming.com/post/34050830722/the-legend-of-ze... i've come to appreciate Majora's Mask even more than just an emotional game that clearly acknowledges death in it with the grief that comes as a result, more specifically, 5 stages of it.

Clock Town is Denial. All the people refuse to accept that a moon is about to come crashing down on them since it's so astonishing.

Untitled

Southern Swamp is Anger. The Deku Scrubs get angry that their princess is missing and resort to blame, persecution, and murder on an innocent monkey as to satisfy all their problems.

Untitled

Snowhead is Bargaining. The Gorons are starving and nearly freeze to death, so they desperately hope that their hero will come back and save them despite the fact that he's dead.

Untitled

Great Bay is Depression. The Zoras lost their guitarist and mourn for him since they can't get him back, to the point where nothing seems worth it anymore.

Untitled

Ikana Canyon/The Moon is Acceptance. Since Link has come this far and has no new transformation masks to hide behind anymore. He fully realizes that there is hope, so he tries even when all the others don't.

I know this. :P. Also, the stone tower temple may be a reference to the tower of babel, and other religious customs. And a giant hand is flipping off god. :|

Ultimately, the gameplay and the numerous sidequests make this game enjoyable for me, not the hidden meanings of life or whatever.

There's also this mask that simply wants to destroy everything! What more is there to analyze? :)

@bezerker99 While I agree, it adds a bit of atmosphere, and contributes to the overall impact of the game. :3. Not only is every thing about the game solid, it also has intelligently hidden knowledge. :D. Such a great game...

Who can blame you? The story and gameplay are incredibly, and the side quests have more to them than just "fetch this". There are even hidden sidequests! :D

I saw that feature of Did You Know Gaming as well, and I hadn't noticed that until it was pointed out. I always loved Majora's Mask anyway, but this made me respect the game more.

Wow, I hadn't noticed that! You could write a literary criticism for English Class on Majora's Mask pretty well, I think. Pretty deep stuff there.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

I like the Ikana Canyon area the most, It just has a nice feel to it. The only thing I hate about it is the Spirit Temple boss, it was the worst boss ever >:l

Try beating it without using the Giant's Mask. :P

I attempt my best. The tone of Majora's Mask just makes you wish that it was in Ocarina of Time since you can't have one game without the other.

You also have the statues licking the Triforce in a very... obscene way. Also, for those of you who haven't read the Stone Tower Temple theory: http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/nes-snes-n64-zelda/50295-...

This one is far more shocking if you take the time to think about the implications:

I really like when games can be interpreted with deeper subjects, and while this is a simple paragraph about a connection, it does have me interested in playing Majora's Mask. I watched probably an hour of a LP of the game after reading this thread too, and do think I would like the gameplay and atmosphere.

Favorite Game: Metroid Prime Hunters, Xenoblade Chronicles
