************************************************************************************************************************Hello all!

Multiplayer was a huge part of Retro gaming (just as much as single player). With many games that allowed multiplayer like Bomberman, Gunstar Heroes, Street Fighter II, Battletoads, and (in a different way) even Super Mario Bros., multiplayer was a good way to get not only you to play, but others to join in with you.

The question is: what are the best retro games you've played that are great to play with you friends? If you have any memories of good times you've had playing the multiplayer modes of past games with friends, please feel free to tell!

GoldenEye on N64. I can't even begin to calculate how many hours my friends and I put into that game. We had so many sleepless nights where we would just be stalking each other with the various weapons. Heck I still have an N64 hooked up to my TV for a quick game of GoldenEye multiplayer when my friends come over.

Goldeneye was definitely an awesome multiplayer game. The fun times we had slapping each other instead of shooting each other was just too hilariously enjoyable! I'd also like getting super close to walls so my friends couldn't exactly tell which room I was in if they decided to look at my screen for a hint ;) .

Mario kart Double Dash!! actually made me tear up a little when I got to rainbow road. I just loved how they remixed it. But yes, my friends and I sometimes still get together and play Double Dash!! . It's a lot of fun to play around with and we also like frustrating each other with blue shells and thunderbolts. :D

Oh man, I could list one game every day for the rest of the summer from the 8-16 bit era alone! I will start off with Contra and Super C. If you want to show off your video game skills to your bud, then see who can go the longest without getting hit!

To blessed to be stressed.
I miss Japanese games, the good stuff... Games that are imaginative, have good and unique gameplay, a great soundtrack, and replay value.

@AD3Supa: Super C is for the NES but go ahead and and add Contra III The Alien Wars for the SNES to that list.

Also, don't you think Super Mario Kart should be seperate since it's clearly not for the Nintendo 64? :P
