In the theme of the SNES thread, what does everyone feel is the best looking NES game? I would have to go for Kirby's adventure, that game was very late in the consoles life span and took full advantage. It almost looks like a SNES game!
Batman: return of the Joker. Honestly I've never seen better graphics on Nes. It damn near looks like a Genesis game. Even the music sounds way too good for an Nes. Sunsoft really pushed the limits with this one.

Return of the Joker is a good call, but I always loved the graphics for Metal Storm -- the style is a bit simplistic, but looks great and has some sweet parallax backgrounds that always gets me.
Oh, it HAS to be Bible Adventures. It also has to be the BEST game on the NES. (Sarcasm FTW). But in all honesty, I agree with Link79 here, Return of the Joker blew me away when I first saw it.

Link79 said Return of the Joker first - credit where it's due.
By the way, if you look at screenshots for Metal Storm (my "other pick" above) they aren't impressive -- you really have to play the game and see everything in motion for it to look good. Check out a YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72YmfetJVlA
I don't know about being the best, but I for one love Metroid's graphics...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."

Yeah, in terms of being distinctive it is very! It is an important feature too. Also as a side note, many nes games used that very predictable sound pallette, with soft, slightly grating noises. SMB avoided this very well!
I've always thought of Kirby as the NES game that plays like it was made on a later system. It's a long game, it's colourful, it controls well, there are multiple minigames, boss rush, sound test, an in-game tutorial, in-game powerup explanations, and it has save files telling you your percentage of completion. I've never seen any other NES game have all of that. It's impressive.

Yeah, Kirby has the best graphics on the NES. And I dont even CARE about graphics and I agree.
